So why are you posting this here then if it's not to "justify or elevate" and especially if you are writing it for yourself? None of what you wrote in this paragraph makes sense to me since you started this thread :)
Other than that best of luck on the project.
Thanks again for the reply.
I don't quite get how the whole image works. My nand.img was 29Mb, then 30Mb, so it seems like it's changing. I was hoping that it's repacking on shutdown or something along those lines. I can't find a windows tool to look inside the linux .img file or I'd stick...
Forget straight usb connection for now, I am using gp2x as a linux box. I use usb network to telnet/samba/ftp.
The problem is that when I'm adding kernel modules or even small bash scripts they disappear (zero length) after reboot. Sometimes they stay sometimes they don't. I tried to change...
I'm way past the usb link, I tried samba share, ftp, telnet. I tried copying to /, to /root, to /usr/gp2x, to lib, anywhere, it all screws up at one point. Any new files that I put up anywhere in / have problems.
Well, still no luck. I thought maybe stuff in /usr/gp2x won't get butchered but it did. My sh scripts are all size zero after some reboots and are fine after others. It seems like there's something that 'updates' linux core and trashes stuff that I copy over (I'd figure it would be completely...
Hi!
Can someone please explain to me how the filesystem on gp2x works?
As I understand the whole linux distro is on nand, what is in nand.img?
I want to copy some files permanently to root, for example I have my .sh script in /root but it becomes size zero every time I reboot. There is also a .o...
It's dual as in TWO not duel (which means a whole different thing). Why can't people ever get this right?
Two processors vs dualcore is somewhat different too, especially when the cores are different (as is the case with gp2x). VPU/GPU are really synonymous though.
This drives me nuts :)
I thought my gp2x was busted but after installing 2.1.0 only this emulator is giving me this flicker problem, everything else is flicker free. I thought it might have been memory timings but turning them off didn't change anything. I tried different clocks and so on...
I already got gp2x (love it) and am in the process of deciding if I should get ds lite. DS lite + DS-Xtreme should be a nice combo and they have a decent homebrew scene. There's DSLinux :) If I can have another handheld linux box I am going to love it.
do you mean the 2.1 firmware? I have the latest gp2x with 2.0 firmware. I do mean the flicker when you start the unit, not what some of you had with the first edition (from what I read). It's a small split second intermittent flash, it seems like an overlay of shifted image appears on the screen...
Hi!
I just got gp2x, I really like it except for one thing, strange random split-second flicker.
I looked around here and people are getting the same thing at boot time but it seems to be normal. If I move joystick as soon as gp2x boots I get a flicker, if I go to usb in setting it flickers, if...
