    Xroar 0.20b Released

Well, the new release is out: chatboard support is back, and Time Bandit works :) QUOTE The GP32 build is now adapted for speed at the expense of accuracy. The stuff the 'fast' build doesn't do shouldn't affect most things: a cpu-intensive sound fix that affects one game (so far), interrupt...

    Xroar 0.20b Released

Hello! Obviously I had to go off and see why TB didn't work and I've found the bug - expect a fix (along with working chatboard support again!) in the next release :)

    Will You Buy It Now?

Almost certainly. Battery life would be the clincher (so long as it's good with the (low) performance I'd need out of it, that's fine). I kinda drifted over to the NDS when the clamshell design proved so damn useful, so a properly open device with that advantage and a keyboard (ish) would...

    Xroar 0.17 Released

90MHz (dropped to 45MHz in menus), but it's not quite full speed, which is why I've not been announcing it myself. I intend to pull the GP32 code out from the main project so I can optimise stuff that wouldn't make sense for the general release!

    Mplayer Doesn't Play Certain .ogg's

Grip used to embed ID3 tags even if you encoded as Ogg Vorbis. I think that bug in Grip got fixed, but I'm not sure (there is at least an option named "Only tag files ending in '.mp3'). Worth looking into, anyway.

    Updating Firmware?

No joy here with an Integral 1GB either. Looks like I'll have to nip out and get a little Sandisk one from somewhere.

    Psu Requirements

Well, I received my GP2X today, and for as long as the batteries held out I've been pretty happy with it. But if I don't want to use batteries? ADAPTER INPUT: 3.3V 1A 1 *amp*?! Wow. I mean really. Wow. My 300mA regulated supply needs an upgrade ;) Anyway, building dev tools now, so...

    GP32 Any Different Than Gnu/linux ?

Actually, the GP2X doesn't look like it includes much (if any?) of the GNU system, so in this case just saying it is "Linux based" is probably more accurate! Though to confuse matters, when you develop for it you'll probably be using GNU tools throughout ;)

    Drmd Version 4.0

Still no Stormlord, but everything else I've got (not much, admittedly) works just fine. Thanks for the continuing development!

How Emulators Work, How Cpus Work - Dig It :)

Cool. It really can't be stressed enough just how long winded the process of going through the data sheets and implementing every last instruction is. But it's damn satisfying watching things come together as more and more parts start working. :)

    GP32 Porting An Emulator

Coincidence! I haven't read another post. Now I'm going to have to go find the other one... Edit: ah, seen it. I'd skipped that post because the title didn't grab my attention. Must find more hours in the day from somewhere so I can read everything ;)

    GP32 Porting An Emulator

You should only need to code the bits that are different between the GP32 and the previous target platform. So, assuming there's no target-specific assembly code in the project: video, audio, file access and user input. From a getting-things-going perspective, file access and video are...

Devs.. Moving To Gp2x Or Sticking With Gp32?

Heh, oh sure, and I'm very grateful for your support and enthusiasm! It's just that I'm under no illusions about its limited appeal. I wasn't trying to fish, honest ;)

Devs.. Moving To Gp2x Or Sticking With Gp32?

I'll certainly port to GP2X as soon as I buy one. I imagine adding support for it will be trivial, not that my own project is that widely used.

Devs Seem To Love Gp2x Already. :)

As soon as I know that development is possible and straightforward under Linux, I'll be loving it too.
