Hello :)
sz81 is a Sinclair ZX80/ZX81 emulator very much based upon the work of Ian Collier's xz80 and Russell Marks's z81 but employing the highly portable SDL and including additional functionality and features for desktop computers and portable devices.

Hehe :D
What I like about emulation is that it enables you to explore computers you didn't have the chance to initially, at you're leisure, in bed :)
I've uploaded this to the Wiz archive now since it seems to be working.

Remove the "-i" from within sz80.gpe and sz81.gpe. You can also invert the screen via the control bar icon and remap it to a joystick button if you want using the control remapper (select). I'll remove "-i" from the gpe files now anyway since it's now possible to adjust the foreground and...
I've increased the sound buffer size fourfold for the Wiz to hopefully stop overflows.
There is a program called aydemo.p in the games-etc folder which plays AY music on the ZX81. It would be nice if somebody could run this and comment on the quality of the sound; the volume will likely need...
Well that's great news :) The sound buffer overflow message is mine: it means the sound data isn't being read quickly enough by the sound device and so I can research that.
Thanks for your help Mr 2X. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your help Neil.
In the sz81 release thread ( http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=53203 ) Mr 2X is assisting with termula messages. I've posted a link to a new binary in there too which might work, but if it doesn't you'd need termula to retrieve the error message to enable...
Ok, I've created a new binary -> http://www.users.waitrose.com/~thunor/sz81/dload/sz81
Just place it into the folder overwriting the previous one.
Run it from termula again because it might fail but I'll know what to do :)
[EDIT] Since I'm prepared for any error messages I may as well...
I've built a Wiz version and I need somebody to test it for me please (I don't have a Wiz).
http://www.users.waitrose.com/~thunor/sz81/dload/sz81_2.1.6.1-1_openwiz.tar.gz
If it doesn't work then dump the contents of sz81log.txt here and I can fix it.

Thunor

If you're looking for something to play then I can recommend Virus by Bob Smith. It's currently a work-in-progress but it plays great on a handheld and is right up there with the best games ever created for the ZX81.
You can download Virus from here.

Done.

It's based on the last source release which had a minor fix applied (SVN r331) which was Jan 21st 2010. I rebuilt the GPH version too but for the Open2x version I enabled the designer which requires mouse input and so if the SDL mouse API works...
