Depends what format you're using on the bitmap. 16bit uses 5 (or 6 for green) bits for each primary colour (red, green, blue). I think there's macros to convert to and from normal 8 bit R,G,B values. If it's 8 bit then there will also be a pallete of 256 colours.

Did the light on the dongle (assuming it has one) turn on? Mine didn't but I'm using a 2571 chipset and don't know if that's supported with the 2570 driver.

Hmm - it detects my wireless dongle, but doesn't do anything when I start it, so suspect my dongle isn't 2570 compatible.
