    Forum spam management?

That's a good idea. Another possible strategy is adding a slight delay (hours or even days) before a newly registered user can post or create threads. That might lower the frequency of spam as well.

The Pyra May Be Showing Up at the GamesCom

I hope a Kickstarter will not be necessary. From what I understand ED (or the customers, depending how you look at it) would lose 10% of the money to Kickstarter and credit card firms which is a lot when we move into the million range.

    Obscure computing device fantasies

The watch described in the OP would be my dream watch as well. Since this is for now impossible I settled for the next geekiest option: A solar powered (no recharging or changing batteries ever), radio controlled (no need to ever manually set the time anymore) watch with barometer, thermometer...

    Some new Pandora stuff available

Great news. Is it somehow possible to add further items to my aluminium case order so it can all be shipped at once?

    Pandora 1Ghz screen problem

I have a similar problem, but it's not as bad yet (just green/purple discoloration at certain screen angles so far). But I'm waiting for the aluminium case before sending mine in.

What would you like to see?

Geogebra (uses Java) running some of the more demanding constructions with lots of objects (I can provide some fine examples). Compiling an Arduino sketch and uploading it via the USB-Port to an Arduino compatible device (already possible on Pandora, but it still impresses me).

Running Android Apps in Pyra OS

Hmm, the following sounds very interesting, could we possibly use this?

    Release ECWolf

Nice, thanks a lot for the update. The Map is really super-useful. I have a 1GHz Pandora (running at 1100MHz) and noticed the music/sound stuttering as well, especially in the menus. Maybe it's a vsync issue or something like that?

    Release ECWolf

Thanks. Great news that ECWolf allows circlestrafing. Not that it's really necessary for Wolfenstein, but I'm so used to navigating 3D-spaces with it that it feels jarring without.

    Release ECWolf

Is there any Wolfenstein port that has an automap hacked in? That's what I'm missing most (apart from circlestrafing).

SoC Poll - What's most important for you?

My suggestion (and hope) is to do a true Pandora compatible successor with ARM now and create an x86 device with a standard debian installation as a separate product line later (incompatible to Pandora software but still reusing the case and PCB design of course). There is obviously demand for a...

they just cant let it go, 1GHz n900

Damn, I searched for Neo900 before posting, but it's not mentioned in the other thread, so I didn't find it. I didn't see the targeted price as well, that's clearly way to pricey for a normal person, but understandable given the small run.

they just cant let it go, 1GHz n900

This looks neat: A planned open source successor of the old N900 Smartphone built on the OpenPhoenux GTA04 Platform: http://neo900.org/ http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=91142 I am quite concerned about the legal status of this (as far as I understand they plan to cobble this together...

Hacker compatible? (Hacking in the constructive sense)

I have been using Evopedia which uses its own compressed format. I am quite happy with it. Dev Thread: http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/topic/5991-evopedia/

Release Classic Apogee Games (Full Versions)

You can certainly try and it would be really neat if it worked out. But I strongly suspect GOG only have license to distribute the exact version on their website for PC and any additional distribution for other devices like Pandora would need a completely new renegotiation with all the rights...

Release Classic Apogee Games (Full Versions)

Unfortunately the rights situation for Baldur's Gate is notoriously complicated (You have to figure out Developer/Engine, Publisher and D&D rights). Apparently the negotiations were a complete nightmare and it's a major triumph that GOG managed to get it on their service at all. In fact, the...

Angstrom feed packages that are safe to be copied into openpandora.org feed

I have used the following packages in the past without any problems: usbmodeswitch usb-modeswitch-data (Tool and configuration files to switch certain 3G modems from mass storage mode to modem mode) gpsd (Used for gps communication)

    Release CPU stress test

Hm, during the stress test it suddenly said "sudo unknown user root" and now my XFCE menu is gone. I managed to restore it, but running the test a second time my Pandora (1GHz Edition) keeps freezing the system at ~1160MHz @ OPP4. I guess my Pandora gets particularly quickly unstable somewhere...

This Thing Is All Kinds of Awesome

I really like Evopedia: It's an offline Wikipedia reader which means you can put the complete Wikipedia (with equations, but without pictures) in your language of choice in your pocket. I have collected a few tips for using it in the following posts: http://boards.openpa...ra/#entry182467...

Booting a PC off of an ISO stored on my Pandoras SD card?

Awesome, from now I'll always carry around an iso of System Rescue CD on the Pandora, this makes fixing PCs so much easier than lugging a CD drive around or preparing a dedicated thumbdrive everytime there is a new version out (which is often): http://www.sysresccd.org
