What Are The First Few Things You're Gonna Do With/download On You

Whoa, guys, take it easy - I wasn't trying to troll, but that seems to have been the consequence. Apologies for having pulled the thread in that direction, and please let's just close this tiny segment of the overall discussion. I will answer Stan's question, though - financial investment...

What Are The First Few Things You're Gonna Do With/download On You

Huh? Pandora was announced in 2007, and originally was supposed to be released in Spring 2008. The first group of us who ordered (this was before the bank fiasco) did so late 2007, if I recall correctly. Mea culpa edit: I see now my preorder was 04/10/2008. After calling the poster above...

What Are The First Few Things You're Gonna Do With/download On You

I'm probably going to put mine up on Ebay. It doesn't fulfill the need / value that it would have, two years ago when I first pre-ordered (replacing / upgrading my damaged C1000 then, of which fixed the PCB subsequently, and now never use). I figure that if this ever does become a real product...

    "open" Pandora?

Nah, you are doing just fine with what you have. Golly, just like what is happening with the Openmoko. Oh wait, it isn't. It wasn't a stupid question and it deserves a reasonable reply. Glad to see that disclaimer, at least.

    Anyone Else Lost Interest?

I haven't lost interest in the device, but I have lost interest in regular monitoring of what (isn't?) happening. As another poster suggested, I am simply occupying my time doing other things. I suspect, though, that I won't be as interested in the device when and if it does arrive. As with...

    Touchscreen? What For?

The Sharp Zaurus clamshell line (C1000, C3000) line have had touch-screen, keyboard, and Linux for years. It is probably the closest ancestor - though not in a direct line - to the Pandora (ARM processor).

    How Is Your Re-order Status?

May reorder from the second batch. The timing has changed considerably, more options are on the market, I have less disposable money this quarter, and no credit card option.

    Re-pre_order E,mails Going Out

You're not the only one who did not get a reorder e-mail. And I've checked my spam filters just to make sure. It may be that OP has enough re-orders in to complete the production run already, and so we are not being contacted?

North American Bank Transfer And Distribution Proposal

    1. The intent would be primarily to serve those of us who cannot do an international bank transfer to the UK (to most of us in North America, it is extremely difficult, not to mention exorbitant - I would much rather that nobody, including Pandora, has to eat $20-40 CAD per transaction). 2...

North American Bank Transfer And Distribution Proposal

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 OK. I am going to make an open proposal to Craig and the Pandora team that will hopefully help resolve some of the problems in ordering that he has noted here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=45767 As a potential North American...

    Do You Intend To Re-order?

QUOTE Here’s my list of concerns and you guys can dispute them if you’d like. I’d actually like you to do so but as far as I know, these are all facts (or real posibilities) and just make this whole thing too risky for me until I can just order a Pandora and they, or a more local retailer, can...

    Full Refund?

Paid $388.73 CAD Refunded $355.98. Approximate repurchase charge: 197.77 GBP = $371.92 CAD. Not as bad a hit as some, but I definitely wish the Pandora volunteer team had had a good business / finance person. I was one of several co-founders of an engineering services startup a couple of...

    Beefing up the memory?

I haven't seen the MB, but I would imagine it would be a high-density BGA device. You would need a very steady hand with a soldering iron
