I like the blue color. It's very bright indeed and with it the gpd xd looks more like a toy, but that's exactly what it is to me - a toy. ;-)
On Aptoid there is only an obsolete version of Happy Chick. I suggest to download it from the official site.
I've ordered one, too (the blue one).
Did ED anything to the OS like removing some preinstalled emulators or something to make it legal for the German/European market? And does it come with the newest firmware?
Yes. On FAT32 it refused to work, but on my ext2 sd card it booted normally. So I set everything up on my Pandora and my computer. But when I try to connect the folders on both machines Syncthing gives me the above error message.
I can't get Syncthing to work because of "bytes field exceeds size limit". I am also not able to update Syncthing via browser interface: "Automatic upgrade: couldn't fetch release information"...
Any help?
Maybe someone can make a pnd with the latest release...?
You would be able to use 4 action buttons and 4 shoulder buttons for deskop tasks - besides a whole keyboard. I'd say if those 2 extra buttons can't serve their main purpose, i.e. gaming, in an adequate manner drop them!
I have played a lot of Street Fighter II on my SNES back in the day and also emulated it on Pandora a few times and never had any problems by using the shoulder buttons. But you're right, it's the way I got used to it. I grew up with SNES, so 4 face buttons and two/four shoulder buttons meet my...
To me the two extra buttons somehow look... I don't know.. wrong? We already have 4 (!) shoulder buttons. Why two additional front buttons?
Was there ever a gaming console with more than 8 action buttons?
At least it's another evidence for that you don't have to remember symbols or letters but instead the location of the gaming buttons. It's annoying when half of the menus are using the right button for 'confirm' and the lower button for 'back/close' while the other half of the menus invert this...
I'm pretty sure every gamer and tech nerd is able to differentiate between button A and the A key. It's ridiculous how lengthy these discussions are. Just keep the Pandora layout. I'd rather prefer a software solution for the 'which button/key to press' confusion which occurs when using...
But that's at least partly the niche the Pandora was able to fill and the Pyra should follow on this path to become a success. It's totally fine if you don't consider yourself as a part of this niche demographic, but then the Pyra is not the right device for you. Just buy the new Shield and be...
Ok I understand. The games I played in 800x480 work fine and fluid for me though. But my Pandora is clocked to 1,2GHz, maybe it's because of this. I can imagine that 600Mhz Pandoras will struggle with this.
About the video: That's nice, thank you! :)
Ok let me make it clear with some pictures:
1) This is what I get when I choose "Nubs/USB Mouse" in "Experimental" or "Standard" mode. This is not what I want.
2) This is what I get when I choose "Touchscreen" in "Experimental" or "Standard" mode. Do you notice how the image is squeezed...
Ok maybe you can implement it in a future update!
But perhaps for now you can make that manipulating the conf-file in the "Advanced" donator options will be saved for all games? I usually play games in Dosbox scaled to the whole Pandora screen and would like to have this as a pre-configured...
