NAND OS borked. How to salvage files form NAND before re-flash?

Thanks guys! The guide on the wiki looks straightforward, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. Good thinking, Gruso. Next time around I'll do dev from the SD. Is the OS likely to feel much slower running off the SD?

NAND OS borked. How to salvage files form NAND before re-flash?

My Pandora (on Hotfix 5) is stuck in a reboot loop, I believe because I opkg-ed a bunch of stuff for Python development. I think I saw something similar mentioned as a possible problem elsewhere in the forums, but my Google-fu is weak. At any rate, I'm cool with flashing the latest Hotfix...

I've been meaning to try this: http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/

    Latex

On the bright side, if we do get it to work, we can't really make it any more complicated. :) For the record, I have no experience in Latex at all, but am learning in a hurry in order to come up with a presentation this week (beamer is thankfully pretty simple). I've been meaning to learn for...

    Latex

I brought my Pandora to a conference as my only computer, only to discover that PanDebian (for OpenOffice) won't install and there aren't any Latex packages for Angstrom. Throwing some slides together was looking bleak, but then I found an online compiler, so it looks like I'll be fine. After...

    PanDebian

Hotfix 5 This was with the loopback file on fat32 formatted cards. I'll try installing directly to ext3 later tonight.

I get the following error on both of my SD cards: Failed to mount /media/ram/PanDebian

    USB to DVI/HDMI Adaptors

I keep forgetting to check the Wiki! Thanks for the link. Presentations and such would be my primary use case, so it might be worth me picking one up sometime. Playing games would be nice, but that looks to be unlikely. I can just imagine what an official Pandora 2 feature request page...

    USB to DVI/HDMI Adaptors

You're not being very clear on exactly what you think won't work. I think that it can output video through a USB video device, but it is possible that it could be slow. Some of the reviews for similar devices to the ones that I linked showed that they were slow even on full desktops; a...

    USB to DVI/HDMI Adaptors

I think something like one of these - these are active video devices powered by USB, not just a connector converter. I thought we had a thread on this (besides this one), but I couldn't find it. I'd also be interested in getting a USB VGA/DVI out device if there was one confirmed to work...

Just a really wierd idea ;)

She opens Pandora's box before Sheldon gets home and ruins everything. The story practically writes itself.

    Woot - It's here...

I decided not to start another `just got it´ thread and share my joy here: It's here! I finally got to do the one thing I've been dreaming of for two years: sit on the oval with my Pandora. Still figuring everything out; I'm sure I'll have lots of questions soon. In the meantime: joy...

    Diary of a non-patient man

I just missed it! I got home today to find a card from the USPS saying that I need to sign for the package, but I got home just as the post office was closing. No more two more years, no more two more months™, not even two more days. In 14 hours and 15 minutes, I'll be at the post office...

    Diary of a non-patient man

I upgraded mine a couple weeks ago, and it shipped last Tuesday. The day Craig's car caught on fire. So, my Pandora is somewhere between Tyneside and Ohio, but since my tracking number was lost in the conflagration, I have no idea when to expect it. Every time I hear a noise, I run to the...

    Prevent Charging While Tethering

Bluetooth would still spend extra battery, though. If you're going to spend it, might as well send it to the phone :)

    USB Hubs

That'd be perfect, but I can't find a US seller. I could make do with one on a cable (thinking about this one with built-in LAN), but something rigid like that would be ideal.

    USB Hubs

My Pandora is on the way, so it's probably time to pick up the accessories I'll need. I'd love to have a compact USB hub that sort of hugs the back of the Pandora, to keep the bulk down. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, I need some clarification on what I need to run USB 1.1 devices...

(UPDATE: Craig Rocks! ) Traveling...A bit of help needed

Assembling Pandoras all day leads to a sedentary lifestyle. I, for one, appreciate his sacrifice.

    EXT connectors

Today is a good day. I received two international packages: some connectors from Stan, and some Sugru from the UK that I'll use to connect the cable! Oh, and I got my shipping confirmation for my upgraded-to-premium Pandora. So I just need one more international package, and I'll be all set :D
