I've put a new version in the repo.
The only visible change is that the fog is now rendered.
I've made a few preformance improvements but at least on my rebirth unit
it is only 1-2 more fps most of the time, so nothing big.
I seem to miss something as I can't get setup the latest image. :(
I've extracted it to a freshly formatted ext2 SD-Card.
It boots up and the first run wizard runs until the dialog for setting up the login name is displayed.
I can enter whatever I want but it repeats displaying this dialog...
I've tried the driver pnd, but couldn't reproduce the problems the CC owners had
However it's not needed any more as the problem seems to be solved.
Thanks anyway,

Okay I've uploaded a new version to the repo which hopefully renders the menus correctly on CC Pandoras.
Maybe this'll help you...
I've changed font rendering so that the texture size is max. 512x512 and always have the same height and width.
Originally the font textures were using the maximum...
Hi,
It seems that the opengles drivers for the cc pandoras have a bug
( see http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/topic/13622-extreme-tux-racer/ )
I suspect it has something to do with glTexSubImage2D not working correctly.
Does anybody know of a workaround for this?
As I do not own a CC...
Okay, next try with another fix and more logging...
Btw. Is the text on the loading screen "Loading resources, please wait" displayed correctly?
If not, which letters are not displayed?
test3.zip
I've looked at the log and it looks normal (unfortunately ;) ).
However I've found a small issue, which might fix this problem (but I doubt it).
I've compiled a new test version with even more log output.
So please test this again, upload the log file and report if the fonts are still...
Hmm, It seems like the texture for some of the chars is not created correctly.
As I don't have a CC-Pandora to check,
I've attachad a stripped down test version of the game (without most of the game data).
Please unzip it into a directory on the pandora and execute the script "start.sh" from...
Can you provide a screenshot with the messed up menus?
Are the fonts during racing also unreadable (time / herring count / speed) ?
If not, maybe it helps to set [use_papercut_font] to 0 in appdata/extremetuxracer/.etr/options

The port of Extreme Tux racer is online : http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=extremetuxracer
It's based on version 0.6 beta1 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/extremetuxracer/
It still has some graphical glitches and runs quite slow (~ 20 fps) but it's playable.
I've not yet done...
Ah, now I understand what the RI_2_TEX is used for.
Removing the stars layer gets 2-3 more fps, so I reworked the skybox handling ( I hope I have done it right this time ;) )
Thanks for the help.
Okay, I've done that and together with removing some of the particle systems it seems to lead to less stuttering! B)
So I've uploaded a new version to the repo.
I've converted everything to PVRTC now, but that doesn't significantly increase the fps.
However it does heavily reduce the loading time of the game, so I will keep that in anyway.
One of the main bottlenecks seems to be the handling of particles during the game.
Especially when explosions...
That's on a rebirth unit at 600 MHz. (Almost the same on 800 MHz)
I've played around with smaller texture sizes but that doesn't show any improvement in speed so far :(
I've uploaded a beta version which is quite playable to the repo.
The main menu runs with ~50 fps and in game I can keep it above 20 fps most of the time
I've just uploaded a beta version of AstroMenace to the repo (see http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=astromenace)
I had to remove some graphic effects and use the lowest available graphical settings to get it playable on the pandora.
(On my rebirth unit I manage to keep the game...
