thats the problem. when i plug the barrel-jack in. it doesnt charge. when i plug the mini usb in. it charges but not enough to keep the charge (because it turns on the system)
aaaaand i ran into a problem checking the continuity.
Nothing is broken.
and one part read on my multimeter 1.337, is it true the pandora is imbued with the very Leet?
(the mini usb read 0.500, and the barrel jack read 1.300)
well if the contacts on the capacitor are missing. you can just create some by flowing solder onto where a contact should be
plus it looks like the contacts are still stuck to the board XD
well. downloaded the pdf and it does not say what those two are specifically.
Hopefully ED can shed some light so i can order some
also. Radioshack, Huge sale. BUY BUY BUY SOLDER WIRE DOIT DOIT DOIT
(what i bought could have been $72 but was $32 instead :) )
i bought a multimeter, mesh...
try taking out the lcd connector and re-connecting it. (id run a warm soldering iron over the contacts to rectify the problem. hey, if it works for the gameboy :P )
Thanks! il have to buy a multimeter first (i don't have one :< )
EDIT: and also thanks. knowing that these are indeed fuses does help a-lot in my research.
however should i also test for continuity? (i should probably include a water damage indicator to the inside of the case)
Explanation...
Although my unit is a rebirth model. that picture doesnt really replicate whats on my board. but i can give you an idea where there might be some.
anything that leads out from the power ports such as http://prntscr.com/70dlu6for the psp port, it seems larger. however im not sure since its not...
how would i find the short. i know that to charge through the psp port. there is (on the PCB) a few fuses throughout. (i could open it again and examine it) and with the USB port aswell. simply having raw power would overload the system, so fuses would be involved
EDIT: Mind that this is an...
il open it back up to see if that is what it is.
My pandora still accepts a charge, but does not charge fast enough to keep it. (the psp charger does not charge. blown fuse, need to replace) the usb does charge (fuse is damaged there. need to replace the fuse there) but not enough.
