Even more to see here (now)

So this basically means you’re a hipster for not using the mainstream definition of „hipster“?

Even more to see here (now)

... you DO realize that you will probably be the most „hipsterest“ hipster in the whole town with your Pyra, while MacBook users have become kind of mainstream, don’t you?

F(x)tec Pro¹ - Slider Smartphone with physical keyboard

Oh man, I'm an idiot. I completely overlooked the word "price", I just read "Nearly same as Pyra". Sorry for that. Hm okay, I can understand why you are not happy with Android then. For me I HAVE to use at least messenger apps to stay in contact with friends, family and colleagues, so not much...

F(x)tec Pro¹ - Slider Smartphone with physical keyboard

(Edit: I read "Nearly same as Pyra", while overlooking the word "price". Sorry.) Well I can't really agree with that. Yes, they both have a physical keyboard, but that's about it. The Pyra is a full mini computer with additional buttons for gaming, running Linux. The Pro1 is a smartphone. And if...

F(x)tec Pro¹ - Slider Smartphone with physical keyboard

I am actually pretty surprised (or maybe just too stupid to use the search) that I didn't see anyone talk about this. Well, to be honest I just found out that this device exists a day or two ago and don't know that much about it yet - it is expected to launch this month - and am very curious to...

    Gamescom 2019

I see, didn’t realize that. That’s a big relief, I was afraid that adding color to the base material would change the feel of it significantly. But that’s just the „raw“ material without any color pallets, isn’t it? Might be possible to get a darker grey. Anyway it feels much better than it...

    Gamescom 2019

I was at GamesCom as well. Maybe it’s just me, but I got the impression that the black color (while looking great) felt a little cheaper than the „default“ grey parts. I don’t know how to describe it.. the kind of plain material where your hands get pretty sweaty after holding it for just a...

I think he meant that the Pyra doesn’t have analogue, „pressure sensitive“ shoulder buttons. In Mario Sunshine for example you can’t move when the shoulder button is pressed down completely I think.

I can confirm that. Works over VPN

Will we be able to see different colors at GamesCom? And will you already be there on Wednesday, 21st?

EvilDragon's Coffee Hoard (Coffee discussion split from on-topic)

I didn’t follow the coffee path unfortunately. It’s sad but I only had a handful of great tasting cups of coffee. A few of them in a café in Vienna. I would love to have a great coffee setup as well, but currently I am still overwhelmed with my tea journey :D Great to hear you found a Gushu...

EvilDragon's Coffee Hoard (Coffee discussion split from on-topic)

That’s a weird idea :D Did you like the taste? Yes, you can brew tea quite strong. But the thing with tea bags is that the compounds are absorbed really quickly by the water, because you’ll usually find very fine tea powder in the bags and not loose leafs. That’s why especially green tea from...

EvilDragon's Coffee Hoard (Coffee discussion split from on-topic)

Thanks :D Yeah, I always preferred tea over coffee (very unpopular opinion in IT), even though I drank about the same amount of both. Of course I knew that loose tea is usually much better than tea bags, but when I found out that there is a huge, huuuge difference between tea wholesalers and a...

Nicht drauf reinfallen, er hat keine Pyra, sondern nur eine Flasche Pommes dabei ;) (Don’t fall for it, he won’t have a Pyra but a bottle of French fries with him)

    SD Card Organisation options?

Unfortunately I didn’t find a DIY way which would definitely be much cheaper, given that CD cases are very cheap and lots of people have probably even still tons of them lying around (I know I do :P ). But you can order them from Pearl, which is a German mail-order company. I don’t think they...

    SD Card Organisation options?

Funny, I thought about a new way to organize my cards a few days ago as well. Personally I am thinking about purchasing something like this Edit: I also like the idea to store SD Cards with the help of some inlays within a CD case:

I am running into problems like this all the time when I am at work or visiting my parents and don’t want to carry a laptop. At best I am having my Intel NUC with me which lacks an SD Card reader as well. The Pyra will be a life saver in that regard for me :D

Oh damn, I didn’t really plan to visit GamesCom this year .. now I have to :D The Retro Hall would probably be the only hall I really want to visit in general, even if it wasn’t for you, ED, and the Pyra. (Forget what I asked here before editing, I’m an idiot :P ) Do you already know if you...

    Pyra News: Springs are brilliant!

I would be very interested to hear the details on this. Are low-level coders needed before the Pyra can be released and if so, what exactly is still missing? Or is this just a concern about general dev support after it has been released? Does anybody know?

    Pyra News: Springs are brilliant!

Hi, I'm new to this forum because I rediscovered the Pyra recently. First heard of it about three years ago when my financial situation was not that good yet and completely forgot about it. Anyway, personally I preordered the Pyra about two weeks ago and I chose the 4GB model just because it...
