Actually I'm pretty sure it's 7 volts. Atleast I know this to be true on a normal 7805. However there are a few variations of the 7805 so the drop-out limit could be different. Also the max a 7805 can handle is about 35v. But it would cause so much heat it would probably melt.
It looks a bit like a regulator. If it is then you could replace it with a 7805, It requires 7v+ to run but outputs 5v. Also since you want to do it in small steps i'm pretty sure there are some adjustable regulators out there.
On their contact page it says call them at these times - 10am - 4pm GMT/BST Monday to Friday. Now I know this is regarding to actually phoning them but surely someone would have to actually be there to send us the e-mails so I would't expect any past 4pm.
Seriously this looks great. I can't wait to start playing it when it's released. I believe it to be one of the most anticipated games for the gp2x.
Keep up the good work!
Yes i'm still waiting for the conformation e-mail too. Mine was supposed to be a birthday present and I ordered it before the 12th and it's very annoying. But I suppose I could get an e-mail later on. It's just all of my other e-mails i've got from them have been at 2pm. I'm probably going to...
