Thought I'd do a follow-up . . .
I solved my problem by buying a new card reader. Now I can download at USB 2.0 speeds, and the files don't become corrupt when I view them in the GP2X.
Unfortunately, there are no real "brand names" to card readers. They're pretty much all a dime a dozen...
I just realized my GP2X didn't come with a CD, with the dev stuff on it. Did GPH stop providing CDs with the unit? Did anyone else get a GP2X without the CD?
It's not really a big deal, but it would have been nice to get the CD as well. Can all the dev software originally provided by GPH be...

I don't have a problem with errors while formatting the card. Just when I remove it and insert it into the GP2X. All the files end up becoming corrupt. I'm guessing it has to do with the card...

Formatted the card as FAT32 in the card reader. Copied files over. Right clicked on the icon representing the card in XP, and clicked Eject. Removed the card...
