Hi!

I'm having a weird problem.

When I have a pnd, it runs once fine. For instance, chromium. If I close it, and try to run it again, it fails. If I remove the chromium dir from appdata, it runs fine again. The problem isn't 100% consistent, sometimes it does work fine a second time.

I have a recorded case with Gargoyle, where I saved the output of dmesg & pndrun:

pndrungargoyle_run.out:
rm: cannot remove `/tmp/cpuspeed': No such file or directory
not mounted on loop yet, doing so
LoopMountedon:
/dev/loop1
Filetype is ISO
sudo mount /dev/loop1
mounting union!
Filesystem is vfat
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on none,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
(for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
need a /sbin/mount.<type> helper program)
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

[------------------------------]{ App start }[---------------------------------]
/usr/pandora/scripts/pnd_run.sh: line 37: ././run.sh: No such file or directory
[-------------------------------]{ App end }[----------------------------------]
umount: /mnt/utmp/gargoyle: not mounted
cleanup done

I already formatted it with the panasonic formatter.

Is my SD bad? Does anybody have the same problems? Anybody got any clues? It's not my pandora, as I had it with my first one, as well as with my replacement.

Please?

Prometheus had a very similar problem just a few days ago. She'll be happy to know it isn't just her going crazy. :D
Looks like all she did to get it working again was format it, format it, fsck (or chkdsk) it, check it again, format it again, check it, format... until eventually it worked.

Something happens when it unmounts the unionfs (the appdata directory is mounted as a "filesystem" along with the PND for ease of use) that is causing that directory to get locked up, preventing it from remounting it. Probably some bad superblock somewhere. Windows would probably happily ignore the bad superblock and keep plugging along until the whole card was corrupted, but Linux is a lot more paranoid and will lock up directories, or even the entire file system, if it senses a problem.
Just run some checks and formats on the card and see if it can be made to work.
