ok...sooooo, we all know it is kinda hard to get ahold of the connectors for the chatboard...and most of us think it is pretty neato...

here is my idea (and don't respond until you have read ALL OF IT)

since i use a smc reader/writer i have no use for the usb cable...well, i thought that it might be easy to solder the wires to the spots on the gp32 mainboard:

EXT-Pin: Meaning: Color:
1 +3V orange
9 Rx white
10 Tx yellow
18 GND blue

since it is only 4 pins, i could just use the CONNECTOR from the usb port..NOT the actual usb port, or the usb protocall, just solder those wires from the serial port connections on the mainboard, to the 4 pins on the usb connector, then attatch the usb cable to the chatboard and viola! :D

i think it will work...

where is the page with detailed modification pics? and where can i get the chatboard? circuit city? best buy? ????

I think it'd be better to add a new connector on the back rather than subvert an exisiting connector that you might find you need later on.
Theres a pretty large cavity at the back behind that label, should be enough room to add a new connector to wire up as a duplicate ext port.
