Hi there,
I've been thinking about flashing the Multi-Firmware onto my GP32...
but I haven't found reliable sources about how risky this flashing is...

Okay, you shouldn't turn your system off or use weak batteries while you flash, that's for sure.
But some sources say that flashing sometimes doesn't work.

Now my question:
When I do everything right, will my GP32 work after that?
Or are there a few GP32 versions, which WILL break when you flash them?

Thanks for your help :)

I can only tell you my personal experience.

I downloaded Spiv's latest combo firmware and followed the instructions and it was fine. Takes about 10 seconds or so to flash.

I didn't have any problems, though I have heard of it ruining a system, but I don't know if any particular GP32's are to blame. I don't know what could have caused the botched GP32s.

So... flasher beware I suppose, but I had no trouble at all. (Was sweating a bit when I did it though :).

Out of curiosity, bow do u flash your bios? I'd really appreciate it if someone wrote up a tutorial or guide...

There's a quick guide on darkfader's site (where the tools are), but here's the info for now anyway.

You get hold of the firmware you want to flash - say mr_spiv's - and call it fw.bin... transfer that into the root directory (gp:\). Then get hold of fw.fxe (the firmware flasher) and dump that in gp:\\gpmm\. Then run it from the freeloader, simply. And pray.
