This would be amazing. I'm thinking something along the lines of the gp32's mythic chess, but with the addition of .pgn support.
For those that don't know, pgn is portable game notation. It uses standard text files to record a game of chess in algabraic notation(the kind used in most chess books these days too)
As text files are small, you can have thousands of Grandmaster games available for study taking up very little room.

I'd guess that gnuchess and crafty are probably the best places to start looking so far as source/engine goes. I haven't done any dev for the gp2x yet, but if there were a coupla people to cvs with, I might be able to sink my teeth into it.

c'mon. we all can do better than snes chess games. I'm actually surprised that something this geeky hasn't already been ported. First thing that came to my mind... :D
