hey there,
this is a very quick question
I am wondering if games that were developed for the gp32 can run on the gp2x
thank you.

Basically no. The GP32 has a custom firmware, whereas the GP2X is Linux based, so the programs just compile differently. It's like trying to run a windows game on your 2X by copying the CDROM onto an SD card...

Squidge has done some work on a GP32 Emulator, however, but as yet it is far too slow to be usable since it's in its first stages. Also it would probably a good while before it becomes anywhere near usable.

Lot's of GP32 Games have been and can be ported... others have had their source lost so...

you may know this already but:

a good chunk of the fenix games have been ported over.

many games that were ported to gp32 from pc, have been ported to gp2x as well.

xRick, another world, beats of rage, doom-heretic-hexen-quake-rott, scummvm, etc.

in some cases the authors of original gp32 games have ported them to gp2x.

electronia, perfectfit, smashGP, spout, and more i'm sure.

and some of the emulators are as good or better than the gp32 equivalents, except for battery life. from what i've heard, anyway.

but there still are a lot of apps that are gp32-exclusive, and will have to remain that way. if squidge's goals with spot are in fact reachable, and if he decides to keep working on it, then you may see something, but otherwise, the answer is, sadly, no.
