I hate Playstation controllers and wish I could use an Xbox 360 one instead. Will the receiver work on PS3? I figured it might because I connected a wii remote to a PS3, which called it a "Human Interface Device." That's close enough, although the playstation wouldn't do anything with the controller. If the receiver wouldn't work, then would a wired X360 controller work?

yes it works but you need a Xbox360 to PS3 controller adapter and a Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver (for computers). You can get both at Amazon

Edit: I feel the same way about the xbox controller. Its the best you can get. Especially when you have big hands. I use the xbox 360 wireless receiver on my computer and it rocks!

I have to try to get it working on the Pandora. There are x86 diver for Linux but I haven't looked for ARM driver yet.

How about the wired 360 controller? If it would work then it would be a cheaper solution.

nope, you still need a Xbox360 to PS3 controller adapter. You'd only save the receiver
