I have now had my :gp2x F200 for about 1 year and am thinking of modding it and whilst I was browsing I thought I'd look at its processor Magic Eyes MMSP and I saw on the MES website there is a new one called the MMSP2+ or any other of the Magic Eyes Processors (VRender 3d, Pollux). I am still rather noobish with my GP2X but I was wondering if you would be able to get this and put it in the GP2X making it a lot faster and generally improve it.

Would not work, they're not compatible. GP2X apps ported to MMSP2+ don't run a lot faster anyway, if you don't believe me ask Squidge. Sure it has a 3D accelerator, but there wouldn't be any software written for your special unit.

If you want a GP2X with a Pollux in it then get a Wiz.

A lot of us are very, very glad that Pandora didn't decide to go with MMSP2+.

Even if it would have worked, good luck with the BGA rework station!
I used my infrared hair dryer to do this mod and it works great!

Protip: if you install the chip sideways it fixes the screen rotation bug!
