Hi,

Last time I was considering installing skype to run it on the framebuffer (for geek use) with video voip (using v4l2)

It is actually possible to re-code for instance Ekiga to run it onto the framebuffer. It would be nice actually. Actually for the pandora, wiht omapfb.

   apt-cache search fake framebuffer

xvfb - Virtual Framebuffer 'fake' X server

example of fb use: http://www.gambaru.de/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/20110612_Mplayer_Framebuffer_800x600.png

what it is ...

Anyone interested?

 ...

I was more considering to fake Skype  http://www.skype.com and run it on the framebuffer (to adapt a bit the plugin).

(- Probably not. All are using x11's ;) )

what about coding it based on http://ng911dev1.cs.columbia.edu/docs/libsipapi/ or alternative?

Hmm, can not find it either with opkg update && opkg search xvfb.

But how about:

http://www.emdebian.org/crush/search.php?package=xvfb&arch=&distro=sid

So maybe get a debian distro, dowload the deb, use alien --to-tgz, then try installing that?

edit:

it contains the script xvfb-run and the binary xvfb. Could not get it to run though, even changing line 163 to include the full path of Xvfb

Error is: Line 163: Xvfb: not found   (or, if using the full pathname Line 163: /usr/bin/Xvfb/Xvfb: not found)

I used: xvfb-run -a -e ./errors.txt pnd_run /path/to/a/pnd/file

And also export PATH=$PATH:/usr/bin/Xvfb

Sources would be here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/xvfb
