Hi, does anyone have USB/OTG running on the EVM?
I just see
[ 524.567215] palmas-usb 48070000.i2c:palmas@48:palmas_usb: USB cable is attached
or
[ 643.480191] palmas-usb 48070000.i2c:palmas@48:palmas_usb: USB-HOST cable is attached
in dmesg and nothing else. A connected USB memory stick is not activated.
Does it need some udev rule to load the g_ether driver?

I did look into it just after i got the board and found this
http://e2e.ti.com/support/omap/f/885/t/277258
and then didn't bother trying to get it to work since it mentioned device tree stuff and messing about with kernel sources:)

ah, great info!
I have checked the config of the gta04-kernel and there were some configs missing. Who can deduce that “DWC3” is the USB controller of the OMAP5…
Now at least USB2-client mode works :) I can use an usb cable to ssh into the EVM/Pyra.
The only unexpected thing are some messages like
[ 81.190855] NOHZ: local_softirq_pending 08
but I am not even sure if they are related. I think we can ignore it for a while. If it is a common bug - someone will fix it in mainline.
What I could not test (I have no other USB3 capable machine) is if the USB3 client mode works.
And besides host cable detection, the host mode does not work. Here is someone reporting the same: https://lkml.org/lkml/2014/9/8/239
“omap-dwc3 4a020000.omap_dwc3: ID GND palmas-usb 48070000.i2c:palmas@48:palmas_usb: USB-HOST cable is attached palmas-usb 48070000.i2c:palmas@48:palmas_usb: USB cable is attached and nothing is going on.”
So maybe we have the USB3-host port - but no kernel support yet. Something to keep in mind for future kernel work.

Ok, is some more background info - role switching does not yet work:
