I started playing GPWar last night (After finally getting a working version using GPDrive - SIDENOTE: gpdrive is my new best friend!) and I just couldn't get into it. It felt like all I was doing was taking my turn to get my troops face to face with the opponents as they all only have a firing range of 1 space. Is it possible to extract new troops? Maybe I'm just not playing right or dont know all the rules but it seems like..

1: get face to face with opponent with bigger artilery than them
2: shoot until dead
3:repeat.

I know there is a strategical way of playing and prob. more option i dont know about and I wanna know cos I love these sort of games and always wind up hooked!

Please dont slate me for this, I wanna get into it i really do!

Yes you can get new troups, just select one of your buildings. Some units do have a range of more than one. Most annoying thing I've found is that Planes and helicopters cannot go across water. You can also send soldiers to take over enemy buildings.

Towns give you money per turn the more your colour the better, take over a town by moving one of your soldiers over it and selecting capture, it'll take a couple of turn to capture it.

factories produce new units (depending on cash of course)

Pity you can't merge units to re-enforce half beaten units like on the GBA

hey, i've made a big pdf doc that explain all things about gp32war, how to create/repair units &co.. and you seem to haven't read it...

I have read it and know that to repair units they have to move onto a building :) I was just saying its a pity you can't re-enforce units (ie on the GBA if I have a unit of 3 soldiers and a unit of 2 soldiers I can move one onto the other to create 1 unit of 5)
