Hello people!

I got the new free gpcine.fxe from entware, and it wont start. It started the first time I ran it, but after that it crashes and reboots the gp when I try to run it. I have tried running it from different locations, and with/without avi's in various folders(should be gpcine.fxe in GAME, and movies in GAME/GPCINE, right?). I can't get a visible icon if I dont place the .fxe in /GPMM. I've got the original firmware, and I am thinking maybe that's what's wrong. Is it time to flash a new firmware? And if so, is pacrom the one to go with, as stated on the frontpage news today? What firmwares have worked out for you with gpcine.fxe? And why was the download from entware a .fxe not a .fpk file?

Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Interesting. I have Mr Spiv's FW and the same problem with the free GPCinema so I thought it was my non-original firmware causing the crash :)

So, does anyone know how to solve this? Can't wait to watch my Animes on my gp32_console

I don't know what all this stuff is about fw problems. It works fine in all launchers for me, including freelauncher (using spiv's mfw2). It sounds to me like you may have either corrupted the config file, or you're simply running low on batteries. Try removing the file mpgp.cfg from gpsys and see if that solves your problem.

i wouldn't advise pacrom, i got mr spiv's mfw, both pacrom and windups load it, but if i load it with pacrom, it doesn't work... i get a messed up interface, and can't do anything
windups does the trick for me :)

this is odd... mine works with all launchers expect free launcher.. (mfw2 spiv) very wierd..

I was looking everywhere for the answers because whenever I loaded a movie in it, it would crash showing some mr spiv error screen. Well it turns out that I encoded in the wrong version of divx, I was not aware that only divx 4.12 is supported. You can get the older version of divx here if you need it. The other problem I had was GpCinema not loading correctly, graphics being screwed up etc. Simply by loading it in Windups solved this problem. Other than that I don't know...
