mp3 mono really works for gpcinema? I had read somewhere that it didn't, in a tutorial. So they seem to be wrong. However I cannot remember where it was.

divx4 at 256kbs 2 pass encoding
24bit 11,025 hz stereo - mainly as same bit rate as mono but same final size
virtual dub - resize to what ever you want or need to keep ratio and use precise bilinear.
You probably know this already but if you use null transform to clip any wobbly edges off your vids make sure you then stretch the image with resize by the same amount to compensate, means you'll get corect ratio.
also ive found that if your running a 25fps dvd of whatever encoding it to 24fps then dividing it by 2 in virtual dub fixs the lip sync, as a 25fps vid divided by 2 results in 12.5 which gpcinema translates to 13fps meaning sound will run incorrectly.
Incidently in use dvdx to reduce a dvd to 24fps then alter the rest in virtualdub.
This will get you a file that is either the same size as the vid is long or smaller.
Also most of my vids are 300x240 as this keeps the 4:3 ratio.
