Damnit, I'm going to flash some new firmware..

I have the multi firmware and normally boot into Windups automatically. Like most people I store different things on different smc's, so I have an Emulator card which boots to a desktop with the emulator shortcuts, an Atari card which boots me to an Atari logo desktop with a shortcut to the emulator and a book reader to read a few game manuals I have, etc etc.

The beta for the new official mp3 player has been released as a fxe, so for my card with mp3's on I can now boot to the desktop and run the mp3 player from there:),
Now I never have to look at that childish spinny ball menu rubbish again :)

can anybody shed some light on whether or not the games from joyGP work with this replacement firmware?

Perfectly. Why not? Even if they, for whatever reason, choked on PacRom or WindUPS, you could always revert to the trimmed original FW.

I got Pinball Dreams, and it works fine with PacRom.

The two possibilities causing that report are 1) Windups can't run commercial games and 2) Pac Rom could choke on a game. But if they do, just select the original firmware and they'll work great, at least by my experience!
