Hey all
Ok i ripped some copies of the simpons from dvd to my pc and converted them in v dub and the look lovely
did the same with my familly guy dvds and they look awfull, any ideas why?

the video sticks and stutters and when anything moves the image breaks up into thin white lines, its very odd.

the avi from the dvd rip is fine it just screws up when i vdub it

anyone??

cheers

I wonder that too....I have good rips and bad rips. There is a guide Gp32 Vizionari that shows you how to do it. I didn't follow the guide exactly, but some of my rips were good and some were bad. I hope that guide can help. It is from Bonks. Good luck

thanks for the reply, but i already use that guide, its weird cos i thought the simpsons and familly guy rips woudl be more or less that same, im gona try movielink when i get home see if thats any better

I wrote an e-mail to Bonks a few days ago asking him about that, but I don't get it either. Here is a tip though to make you files small with pretty good quality. instead of choosing 16bit stereo sound at 44000 mhz(?) choose 16bit mono, 22500 mhz. The sound is still good and it is stereo! I tried and put my ear up to both speakers and sound came out of both. I know someone else can help on this topic. :D

Ive done simpsons too and they were fine but not tried Family Guy so im not sure.

I wonder if its cause some Cartoons actually only have 24fps rather than the usual 25, i noticed this a long time ago when i was getting into DIVXing.... not sure tho

I havent had this happen to me before so i cant work on it/help much till i do, sorry guys :(

zboy,

i just read your email this morning (not had access to my mail for a while there) and ill have a look at it when i get back home, one thing my guide lacks in is it assumes all your default settings are the same as mine, ive had a few people email saying otherwise so ill need to write what the settings 'should' be set to.

Hopefully/maybe this will help with some of these problems

Time to bring up the 'perfect' guide @ http://faq.gp32emu.com/

That tells you everything you need to know about MoviePark. I believe the main error, is if you have a 30fps decimating by 3 works fine, but other fps don't so well - try putting in a direct fps number into the box next to the decimation checkboxes.

hi all, ok so i tried decimating by 2 and the picture improves loads but now the sounds out of synch (its slower that the image)

any ideas?

J

if you fps > 10 you'll get that. Try a lower bitrate for the video, lower audio bitrate, or just keep clicking on keyframes to resync it.

thanks for getting back to me ricco, ok i dont really want to drop the video or audio bitrare so coudl you expand a little on the key frames ideas, i had a feelign it was somethign to do with this but how do i add more key frames in v dub

Cheers

J

Go to Video -> Compression, choose your codec and click Configure as normal. Now look for 'Maximum keyframe interval' and lower the number ... however I am not sure if video keyframes will sync the sound with them...
