I love windups BUT the desktop settings sadly never save. This annoys me greatly. Anyone know why? And also what do you prefer?

i use windups, i prob will try yafl once i get my gp32 bak, how come its not saving, r u pressing b and going to save desktop, and is there a windups file in ur gpmm

yafl is fine, but it can't boot from gpbios.

but i'll switch to aquafish multifirmware, so that's not important :)

i dont think you have to get aquafish fw to boot into yafl, i think you use pacrom and make yafl as ur autolaunch or sometin like that

>>wind-ups is the best one. but you can't realy compare it with yafl!!
if you don't like to make your own fxe gifs and make your own desctop, then its much easyer to use yafl.

>>But if you want to have your personal loader with your preferred stuff and functions, then wind-ups is the cream of the crop.
-so I use wind-ups. :)

You can use your own desktops, fonts, color-settings and icons with YAFL.

I used to use Wind-ups but switched to YAFL. Wind-ups only has space for a certain number of shortcuts on it's 'desktop'. YAFL uses different program-groups (it looks a lot like PalmOS) and you can simply switch between these so you can have a huge number of programs on your desktop.

It's very easy to use and I love the themes and the possibillity to use full-size (32x32) icons. The only thing missing (for me) is the possibillity to change the shortcuts names but that will probably be added in the next version.

I use YAFL because when the desktop has too many programs, winds-up becomes messy and it's annoying to have to position each icon manually. Yeah I guess I could do it by editing the config files, but I don't see the interest as I have YAFL :p
There's also the fact that moving the cursor around the screen is slower and less precise than pushing a few times the stick.

I use both, YAFL is great for auto generating the list of programs so you can just bung games on your SMC and then take them off without having to config anything.

However, windups is my preffered choice for those SMC's that I don't change the contents of, and have the icons laid out and labelled exactly how I like them.

and there you have it,.. there's room in this world for both progs ;)
