HELLO, I am new on this site, I have two pandora (1Ghz and 600Mhz), I am 44 years old, I am French of Portuguese origin and I am sorry for my bad English.
I hope you will understand me, thank you.

So here's the story:
- I was on SuperZaxxon v1.55, everything was fine.
- I install SuperZaxxon v1.76, the driver sgx r1.
- I installed the last version of Mupen64 Pus.png, I have configured the Dpad and the left nub and ...
... since it's the disaster, the left nub refuses to go UP, when I manipulate the nub UP, the pointer goes DOWN !!!

I did everything I could, the problem persists:
- I did the "dance of the nubs".
- I reflashed my beloved several times with SuperZaxxon v1.55 (with other SuperZaxxon versions too), reinstalled my old Mupen.png.
- I looked for a solution on the net, on the sites pandorawiki and openpandora (pyra-handheld.com).

And well still the nub who refuses to go UP.

When I go to settings, config nubs, I click on "reset nubs" and then the nub goes back to normal... until I restart or stop the console to come back later !!!
I also searched the internal files of the pandora and used the "Terminal", in "root" mode, "nano", etc ...
I do not know if it's a mechanical problem or software ???

Is there someone that can help me, please ???

I suffered these issues on both my Rebirth and 1GHz units. my First Batch unit seems to be the only one not suffering from the issue on my three. what is odd with the old version of mupen64 (pre-ptitseb port) there was a calibration setting in a config file that seemed to clear up the issue by changing the calibration values. but of course it was for only that emulator.

@Caanunoo, welcome!

It looks like you have done everything I would suggest. Someone with more experience with this issue may need to assist you. If nothing else works, maybe @Linux-SWAT or someone can take a look at it. Are you willing to send it to Germany to get worked on if needed?

It really sucks that this issue keeps coming up and causing so many problems.

The Pandora Input Tester (I forget the exact name - it's in the system folder on the menu or in minimenu, I think) can be useful to see exactly what the system things the nubs are doing when you're moving them. It won't fix any issues, but it can be a nice way to do the nub dance as you can see exactly how they're improving if they do.

I indeed do repairs in Paris, but I unfortunately don't have spare nubs.
I even need some for my CC, on my TODO list.

Thank you for your answers, but I still have the same problem. :-||
Every time I start up the Pandora, I must go to Pandora nub configurator and press reset nubs, move the nub upwards and then press Write nub settings.
And then, as long as I do not reboot or turn off the Pandora, the nub is working properly !!!
It's very strange !!! :|

Then simply let your Pandora on all the time :)
This is what I do.

Maybe @notaz can help you out, it sounds like a software bug rather than a hardware failure
If he is willing to take a look it would be greatly appreciated. For some reason I thought the nubs had their own software or something like that, but if that were the case, and it was a blob or something that can't be touched an update shouldn't need it up. Even more odd is that reverting everything back didn't fix it.

I think logically that it does not have to be a hardware problem because it would never work again.
Yesterday, I made a "shootet" (a .pnd on the repo super fun and addictive) for a little hour, no need for nubs to play, but then again I made the reconfiguration Walked the Pandora and the nub was working properly (I checked it regularly).
It must be a software parameter that has been unregulated, I used the nano editor in root and searched some files, but no way to save the changes I make when I quit nano !!!
Moreover, there are too many files and I do not know which is the right one to solve the problems of nubs.
I will try to remove the battery for a while.
Thank you.
[doublepost=1502551768,1502550314][/doublepost]I just turned on my pandora, extinct since yesterday ... and without any reconfiguration, the left nub worked properly !!!
I do not understand anything anymore !!! :|
But I still remove the battery a moment, to see what will happen. :(

I put the battery back in the Pandora ... and the nub does not work to the up again !!! :-||
I need to reconfigure it !!!
I do not understand, it's a mystery !!! :|

Hi,
As it is a software problem, can anyone help me solve this nub problem definitely, PLEASE ?
Maybe edit a file, a script, etc ...?

It may be a software problem, but that software runs inside of the nub controllers and cannot be changed or configured in any way.
All the driver is doing is reading what the nub says and sending it as some event (relative mouse move, button press, etc.).
Every time I start up the Pandora, I must go to Pandora nub configurator and press reset nubs, move the nub upwards and then press Write nub settings.
I don't think "write nub settings" is part of the "fix" here, most likely you need the upwards movement shortly after nub reset for the microcontroller to be happy. I don't really understand what is going wrong with the bad nubs, maybe it reads the initial position wrong because of some dirt/dust/wear below the nub disk, I think ED used to say that blowing some compressed air below the disk sometimes helps?

Hi notaz,
I already disassembled the Pandora to remove the dust, but I did not blow.
There was almost no dust, I remove everything by being careful.
Thank you for your answer and your help. ;)

I have the same problem on my CC, I desoldered the nub, opened and cleaned it, but it changed nothing.
