Usb Memory Stick?

its possible with a lot of modding probably
but i don't think enough people would mod their gp32s to support this so programs would probably not support it

but i would love 1.5 gigs

The usb socket on the gp32 is unpowered. So first you would need drivers for the stick, then a mod to add power either the usb stick end, or in the gp32.

Edit: But to answer your question, no it isn't currently possible. And I wouldn't expect it to ever be.

Wow your really good at removing total hope from something ;) j/k
Lol :D. Just don't want to get peoples hopes up, that's all. But who knows :). I'd say there's a fair chance with gplinux, just don't count on it that's all :).

Hi,

im just asking myself if it is possible to use Usb Memory Sticks.
There are Sticks with 1,5GB.
It would be very difficult. Till then you might wanna get another SMC and use Gpdrive on it.

It works kinda the same way.

well there was someone on this forum who was trying
but i dont see anymore news from him/her :(
that would be great to have usbdevice, like usb memory stick, webcam, wifi and all kind of stuff :)

so if you know people with some electronics skill who want to try ....
there is the external power supply
but i dont think it such a big problem
and there is another problem i am not sure of, the usb host/device mode, something like that, dont know if we can change it without modding, i hope so

when we will have sometime we will try to make the gp32usb pclink
cable work on gp32linux, so it will provide , e.g some synch mode , like for pda

It's already being worked on, but I don't think they got anything actually usable yet. Last time I heard they were trying to use some Linux source code to probe (search) for usb devices.

1.1 - 12mb/sec, so we would probably get about 500Kb/sec or so.
that sound faster than smc to me

The best use for the USB port (which doesn't even require host capabilities) would be for linking GP32s together. So war, the RF link doesn't have enough bandwidth for multi-player games, but with a USB link cable you would have more than enough. If you DID get host capability working, you could sue a GP32 as a 'server' and use a USB hub to link SEVERAL gP32s together. GP DOOM DEATHMATCHES!

i tried to make my usb key work [ and burend one :( ]
well
for now it doesnt work yet

but well, it s just a first test
right now, the kernel doesnt see the usb key
but see gp32 usb port
