Information about OS / Kernel / Prototypes

Also, don't forget these dbps have been created a long time ago - they might not work with the current OS :)

Indeed, I need to upgrade my devboard to latest and give it a try... also is DBP working properly with the aufs situation with newer kernels?

I dunno to be fair, but Grench reported being able to play one of the previously packaged games either here or in his own thread.
Yes, but only one. Hostile Takeover / Warfare Inc .dbp works quite well and I'm enjoying playing it.

Oh eww, the shine on those buttons is terrible. That made my Pandora useless.. is it really that bad in all lighting?

Also, regarding the touchscreen borders, this might be a problem for very thin scroll bars. Presumably the default size will be fairly wide.

You couldn't use your pandora (presumably the keyboard) because of the shiny surface? Did you not try to turn away from the reflections, you know, like a normal person would?

No, squinting and turning doesn't help shine with rounded domes with dark blue text on a black background.

I presume I'd need to have the backlighting on for the Pyra if it's anything similar.

The reflection is only like that if you look at the keys from a wrong angle.
The Pandora had a rounded surface which caused the reflections, the Pyra has a flat surface with rounded edges. So when looking at them from the top (like you usually hold the Pyra), you won't have the reflections on top of the keys.

That's good news.

I found the media package images with more keyboard pictures. They were all on an angle showing a kind of tunnel-shine. Certainly the color difference and the backlighting alone are huge improvements.

@DoodleMonger Sorry about that - the discoloration you're seeing is an artifact of my trying to get a halfway decent picture of the game on the screen. I couldn't use flash, didn't want my reflection to be a dominant feature, etc, so the picture is taken at a low angle. Taking pictures of on-screen things is actually a royal pain to get them to turn out even halfway decent. All of the symbols on the keymat are either white or orange. There is no blue. The placement of my stylus over the red power button isn't by accident. I needed to shield it a bit or the camera would over-compensate for brightness.

Grench, what are you taking the photos with? a trick used on point and shoot cameras and should work with a phone camera is to use a pair of polaroid glasses . just put one lens in front of the camera lens and rotate till the reflections go.. be careful as you rotate the LCD screen will go totally black...

Planet Computers Cosmo Communicator

I am not making product placement photos. These are, more or less, "proof of life" photos.

ok but its a trick to reduce glare and reflections . thought it might help taking photos without you reflected in them...

The polarizer foil from any broken LCD should do the trick, too.
