Mains Power Adapter Question

I have recently bought a GP32 BLU 166mhz (original NOT +) and I am looking to buy a mains power adapter for it.

The manual says I require an output DC 3V 250mA (or above, standard is 400mA)
It also says 'Caution:Compared with normal adapters, using an adapter that produces stable power is better'

I am a little worried and confused as to what to buy. :(

I am told the one on GBAX.com is not suitable as it only works with the +.

So what adapters are you guys using on your BLU's??
and can you please recommend me a suitable adapter available in the UK and the best place to buy.

Thanks in advance

Radioshack Power Bank
I bought this from radioshack for $15. For the free adaptaplug, choose type A,
thats the plug thats compatible. Make sure you get the polarity and voltage set
right, Radioshack will help you with that if you bring your GP32 in with you when
you buy it.

EDIT: Thats a 4 bank Nimh AA charger AND a AC adaptor :D
EDIT2: Nevermind, you said UK and Radioshack changed the url anyway :(

dont use an adaptor, buy rechargebles much better
I'd agree - after all it's supposed to be a portable, and compared to other portable devices it's got a fairly long battery life.
If you need an adaptor for very long gaming sessions then I'd recommend you get a fixed (3V) voltage , rather than a selectable voltage one. This way there is no danger of selecting the wrong voltage. If you live in the UK, Maplin sell a 3V stabilised PSU for about a fiver - however you may have to buy an extra plug, as I don't think any of the plugs supplied fit the GP32. I think a Gameboy adaptor may also be a suitable PSU.

Thanks guys :)

Will head of to Maplins this week, will also pick up some re-chargable batteries while i'm there.
The higher the mA level the better right?
Anything else I should bear in mind?

yea, but if you buy NiMh's you'll have to have a recharger for them, you cant use a NiCd charger

Excuse my stupidity, but I know NOTHING about batteries :(

I take it NiMh' are better than NiCd's and the higher mA rating the better??
So ideally, I should buy high mA rated (over 2000mA) NiMh's.
Is that right??

thats wrong, all gps are more or less the same apart from the screen.

Nope, they have altered the power in to accept a much more broad range of adaptors, we have tested and ours cause wavy lines on the old BLU and on the new BLU+ they work perfectly. As i've said before they have tidied up a few things on the BLU+, including the button issues.

Also got my fixed 3V 400mA power adapter from Maplins BUT which way should I connect the adapter tip??
Positive or negative polarity??

I really dont want to blow up my new GP32. :(

Thanks in advance
