How do you format a massive group of cells so that verticall they change colours,
so that it goes along this pattern:
grey
dark grey
grey
dark grey
grey
dark grey
grey
dark grey
grey
dark grey

etc...

Thanks

-Tom

what I would do is -

Click the "A" on the Horizontal bar (so it highlights the whole of columb A)

Hold "CTRL" and click "C" , "E" , "G" , "I" , "K" Etc etc (As far as you want it to go...

Now select the Fill Colour

Click the "B" on the Horizontal bar

Hold "CTRL" and click "D" , "F" , "H" , "J" , "L" Etc etc

Now select the other Fill Colour

Choose AutoFormat (either Format or Tools menu), select a style with alternating grey rows, make sure no header formatting is applied, and disable colours/fonts/all the other stuff so you just have the alternating background colours. Or do it the long way as Steve-O suggested, which is how I usually do it (doesn't take too long).

manually doing it is only long if you area doing somthing like 100 odd + colums...

I did 28 colums in about 40 seconds just then
