Dreamcast Mame Emulation Question

keyboard? how come i need that? i have one from when i bought typing of the dead, just curious as to why i need it? cheers
does neogeo cd emulate well on dc?

Neo Geo CD apparently runs at full/ almost full speed. There may be some slowdown, check DCEmulation for more info (ive never played it myself).

You need a keyboard to play and navigate through the games I think.

well i tried it and i didnt work, as i guessed it wouldnt, i never tried anything like this before.....the disc just shows as an audio cd, but ive looked about and discovered i need burn it as an image? any ideas? cheers.

If you download from P2P it should come as an img (nero or diskjuggler).

If it comes as alot of files then you need to do something (read the readme) or download from a p2p network (easy).

If it still doesent load download a boot disk and try that.

Boot disk probably won't work. Most Dreamcast binaries are 'scrambled' so that they are ready to be used in the creation of self-booting disks. When using a boot disk, you need to use unscrambled binaries.

Take a look at the self booting kits here. I used to use DSSBS Final as I found it quick and easy, but there are plenty to chose from on that page.

The general procedure is:
1) Set out the files as described in the emulator Readme.txt file (ROMs often have to go in a specific named folder)
2) Create a self booting image (either Nero or Disk Juggler) using your chosen self booting kit
3) Burn the image using either Nero, Disk Juggler or Alcohol 120%

As mentioned before, DCemulation.com 's message board has loads of help with this.
