Nintendo The Leader!!! Take That Ya Sony Fanboys

Well yes Sega are ace. Games are games, just cause they have guns in doesent bloody make them cool.

Fools. (apart from finty it seems).

And no I dont have any pics asshole. :p

I'm a Square Enix fanboi, I only bought A PS2 over a GC for FF (well, I prolly would have bought a PS2 as well, both have good exclusive games)
I've got nintendo, sony and sega consoles, They're all good (Except Microsoft's XBOXES :p)

Guns in games dont make them cooler, but I think a lot of older people like to have a choice. Some day I feel like collecting odd trinkets in a colorful world and some days I like getting blood on my hands, it dosen't mean either game is better than the other, as long as I have fun with both.

But the thing that hurt nintendo is when they would take games that were fine by themselves and tuned them down. things like removing crosses from Castlevania, or turning the chicks in Final Fight into guys or removing the blood from Mortal Kombat. Nintendo forced these changes based on what they thought was correct for their audiance and people who were fans of these games felt betrayed because they felt they could handle these themes without having them softened.

Meanwhile Sega was all "You want blood? 'kay, here ya go."

It's the Voltron effect, everyone knows those guys in the space ships weren't "androids" when they got blown up or shot full of lasers but they made sure kids heard that so their minds werent scarred by trauma by seeing on screen death.

Or like removing the reference to SCUMM in Maniac Mansion, because the word scum is unacceptable! And removing the ability to nuke the hamster in the microwave in the UK version of the game!

Doesn't nintendo release alot more exclusives than Sony??? I think they do but i'm not sure, if so that would be a big reason why they are leading in profit, since software is a big part of profit in the gaming industry. The question should be how much money the 3rd party developers make for each system.

Being a collector of course i have my favorites, but the best system for quality of games and had a fair number of games for kids and adults a like was the Super Nintendo.

DMANIT I'VE BEEN TERLLING YOU ABOUT THIS FOR AGES NOW

LEAST YOU FUCKING BELIEVE ME NOW

Truth is when it comes to the business side of the gaming market Nintendo have the know how

SONY and M'SOFT just launch money as their consoles to try and get on top, which is a good long term strategy but n9 good for Ninty since they primarily rely on income from the gaming market Sony and M'Soft do not need to turn immediate profits

Especially Microsoft, whi IIRC have only just started to break even on the XBox in a ne month period

It's stopped being a money looser at least since mid last year, but your right. For both companies games are only part of their buisness for Nintendo it's all their buisness. They have a much lower cost as well since they dont spend gobs of money on hardwar developent anymore having given up arcades.

They just plain get more of their money back on investments.

I like nintendo for fun little games I don't have to get into much story wise to get what's going on,

I like everyone else for depth and that "cinema" or "book" feeling story wise.

I hate GTA, Halo, and Wind waker.

I hate nintendo's dragging up of ports and inability to make a new character to save their life, and the inablity to make a consistant deep game.

I hate microsoft's throwing of money at bungie instead of funding original developers.

I hate sony's "life support" of the now bloated and dying square enix, and it's reliance on games like GTA and such for revenue, and I hate kingdom hearts.

Shut up all of you.

I hate self righteous bastards like you!
but yeah, GTA sucks, and bungie/squareenix are overrated.

anyway, what does "chav" mean?

does it ever end <_<

really, what kind of prick get's his rocks off from TRYING to hurt others by saying 'ooooh look I have PROOF that X company is better than whatever company you like! I must be a better person than you!'

Really pathetic. Please, PLEASE get outside more often and HAVE A LIFE... find better things to do with your time.

I love my playstations, and I love my Nintendo systems, and I am very glad to hear Nintendo aren't doing so badly and that they will hopefully stay in the console race for a long time to come.

I didn't think sony fanboys existed  I thought it was just Nintendo fanboys. Well thats a new one.

Oh yes there definatly are. As much as I like Sony products I'll defend them within the reasonable limits of the truth and freely admit that have a horrible track record with production, but there are people that will defend even that which can't be defended and THOSE are fanboys.

BTW I don't care what you all say, I think GTA rocks and you can all go to hell.
Though Halo sucks some serious ass. :p

posts like the one that started this thread go beyond fanboydom and transcend into pure a-hole-dom... really pathetic.

and kotd - sorry, you know you and I are usually cool, but you're delusional if you didn't see how great a game both Halo's were :D I'm not even a huge fan of modern FPS's, but I couldn't put Halo down, nor Halo 2, playing in long stretches over a very few days to finish each one, then spending many an hour playing them online (Xlink for Halo 1, Live for Halo 2). But as the saying goes, to each their own, I guess....

It just amazes me because some games, to me, are just so universally good that I have a hard time believing that ANY one who plays games could not find something to like about them. Halo fits in that category to me... as I said I generally don't even like FPS's but somehow loved both Halo's... I generally don't like games that are M rated just for the sake of being M rated, but still loved the GTA's and Manhunt, I can't stand games that are just rehashed again and again, but have still loved every Mario/Metroid/Zelda sequel that has come out, not to mention all the remakes/rereleases like the rereleased Marios on GBA or Ocarina of Time on GC.

Well If your a PC gamer. And thats where I played Halo first, compared to other FPS's you'd also probably think Halo pales in comparison :) Its fairly fun, but other FPS's on PC are sooooo much better. Its like comparing GTA 3 to San Andreas :p

i think it depends how hardcore you are into genres. Hard core PC gamers found Halo to be a joke and when me and my friends had a local lan, I said "anyone wanna play Halo?" and everyone said "that game sucks". Than we went on to play Rainbow six 3 Raven Shield hehe

Great Xbox game (I have no love for xbox :p, I'd rather a gamecube anyday :) ). Bad game for PC and not the second coming of Jesus as people claim

Anyone who knows me well, knows I think any console pales to the PC platform. Thats my niche. I bought the PSP for some console games cause I can't afford one of those tiny handheld PCs :(

no well of course Halo wasn't that great on PC... first off, it was already two years old by the time the PC port got released... plenty of time for many more, better FPS's to have evolved since then... when it actually released on Xbox I don't really know what games were out for the PC at the time, so can't argue that point but I know it was one of the best games of the time. Secondly, most people agreed the PC port was pretty messed up and not really true to the Xbox original, bugs and such... I never played the PC version so really dont' know. The only reason that the PC version was so hyped was because it would allow online multiplayer straight out of the box, and if there was one thing that was missing from Halo on Xbox, was the online support... but again as you said, by the time it released (and maybe even before.. I mean counterstrike has been around HOW long?) there were many better games already out there.

But as console FPS's go, Halo 1 and 2 have been just about the top offerings probaby the most fun out of any console FPS and with Halo 2 definately the best online play IMO out of any console shooter.

Anyways... pleeeeease dont' start the PC vs. Console debate as you're really comparing apples to oranges and you could argue all day how each is better in their own ways or which has the better games and it's even more pointless to debate than PSP vs. DS :p Personally *I* prefer consoles but as I keep saying, to each their own.

Yeah Halo can get the best console FPS award as I haven't liked any of them (metroid prime is pretty good 2),and Serious Sam that game rocks!
Yeah the PC game was fairly buggy but that wasn't part of the problem ;)

I think Half life 2 is probably one of the best FPS's lately. I haven't played Halo 2 though. The great thing about PC gaming is you can't really be accused of favouring any system hehehe.
