Anyone in the Upper 6th Know What Maths Exam it is Tomorrow Morning?? Exam Board is OCR... Date - 23/05/2005 at 9:00am

Just I want to know which maths stuff to start revising :p

thanks

Its ok, I know now... P2

Damn I hate Pure Maths... I cant do it at all :(

I did my Maths A-Level back in the day so if you want some tips (this goes for anyone with exams)...

Go to the examing baord's website and download the silly bus (that's syllabus), it more or less tells you everything you need to know. Some teachers are nice and give you it, others are not.

Regarding the maths specifically, an advantage I was told about by an examiner is that even if you dont know the answer, just start writing and work things out, they'll give you marks for methods etc (even if it is completely wrong) and will mark you up to certain stages in working out etc. So dont cross anything out. Leave it in there.

Pure maths is a shocker. You'll be able to bluff the statistics or mechanics much better. ha ha ha.

i got P3/4 in a few weeks ,, although mine r now called core 3 and 4 .., i neva did 2?? wierd aint it but good luck to all takin exams in the near future(anmd i suppose distant future) and if in doubt right the answer as 9.

I'm in lower sixth and I've got my C1 in the morning tomorrow, and General Studies in the afternoon. I couldn't care less about General Studies, but I'm hoping to do well in C1, I'm taking double maths so I'd better bloody hope so.

wow, quite a lot of people do maths on this forum

uess it's inherently nerdy

surprising how many people think your smart when u tell them ure taking A-Level Maths

I know exactly what you mean, It's amazing how a conversation can turn round if you tell people you're taking Double Maths, Physics and Biology.

i have my maths gcse in less the 3 weeks. maybe i should revise some. on the other hand, if its as easy as the higher tier german listening was then i'll be fine.

I just looked at a past paper and Its like,

hehe

Its a P2 Resit Im doing. I know I have failed already :(

I like D1, D1, S1, S2 but Pure is a Bitch... Damn, I would like to see what a P6 paper is like :D LOL

The Teacher said Pure is what people fail / Hate / do bad on the most so its good to know I wont be the only one :D

What is everyone doing or have done for their A-Levels?

I did Maths, Economics, Geography, English and General Studies (it counts at some Universities).

Maths, DT, IT, Physics

Well, I answered Every Question but Wrong I think :p, Hopefully the Exam marker person is tired and just Ticks it all :p

For questions like -

(Example, Not Real Question, Real Question 1000 times harder :p) Show 2x - 3x = -1x

I would have just wrote 2x - 3x = -1x :)

as technically its showing it :p

well, the ICT Unit 2 Exam was quite good :D

I read that OCR is one of the hardest Exam Boards, why didnt the School go with AQA which is said to be easier :( :(

So I think I did well, I'm on AQA. Although I [messed] up on explaining why x=100 wasn't a viable answer.

Did anyone do General Studies today. I was doing that in the afternoon, and it was tipping it down once I got out. I've been wrapped up in a towel since I got back. At least I've got the new Gorillaz album to cheer me up.
