Any news on that PSX Emu that was running Ridge Racer Slowly??
 
nope and i don't think it was ever meant to be anything on the GP32, i think the guy was just trying stuff on the GP32 as a stepping stone to get it running on Palm or pocket PC devices.
 
dammit... I realy wanted to see what it would run like on a real GP32 at 166 - 256mhz instead of that slow GeePee Emu :(
 
It doesn't run really well on my 600 MHz Axim; it runs 'okay' there for some games, but really poorly for others. So on a GP32 I'd think it'd all around stink..

damn, but still even if it is slow, its another emu / thing to impress your friends with and get them to buy one :D :)
 
No kidding PS1 was not ment for GP32, plus only 128MB SMC, not many games would fit. It would be better just to buy the compact model of the PS1 plus the LCD screen....

You can get the same effect by snapping a bunch of screenshots of a PSX game and make a slide show. The framerate of the slideshow would be better too ;)

Well I'm dreaming here but...
It was about 2 fps on the GP32 emu? and that emu emulates a GP32 running in about 40 Mhz? at 166 Mhz would be about 8 fps... and with 2 frameskips a feeling about 20 fps...

But I guess 2 fps was an estimation and not a fact maybe... and that was the best it could do...

OK... I think I read somewhere 2 fps... but maybe I missunderstood this text...

A console is really interesting for me when you have lot of software/games/applications, and you can also write programs for it.
More important, I don't think I can win.
Nobody wants a PSX emulator that runs to 1 fps every 1 or 2 seconds (speed on GeePee32), right?
It needs more coding, but now I want to continue my previous sources for a while. GP32 support isn't discontinued, it's just delayed a bit.

yes sounds like 2 fps.. and serious, 2 fps on geepee would be awesome speed for a PSX emu :) i dont have a account on this pda board, but i will make one if nobody else asks for news
 
comes to think of it... Isn't that as fast as os9xgp? and that's playable at 166mhz...
 
psx ain't that bas a hardware, dreamcast has a few good psx emu's (bleam!). no idea about the dreamcast's sh4 clockspeeds, but the best snes emu was about as slow as the gp32 snes emulator (when clocked at 200hmz). psx emulation i think is possible if someone has time to do something like that.
