I've been trying to get "bloodwych" (a 128k game) to run on the following emulators but seem to be hitting some walls
1) zardoz jones emu gpspeccy only works with 48k sna files
2) speccyals emu only works with 48k as well i think......
3) ZXgp32 seem to be the best as it works wiith both 48 and 128 but it doesnt take keyboard controls in the same way as the other two programs and is preprogrammed to work as a kempston stick(i think)

this means that on the first two i can program the controls
and the other i can play but am unable to move

I think generally im pretty computer competent but i cant program or assemble so changing code is not an option...

can anyone suggest something useful that may allow me to play my "fave" (that takes me back) game

thanks

speccyal K emulates a 128, you have to press both shoulder buttons and then select 128 mode. Exit back to the emulator and reset it by pressing start. It also emulates user defined joystick presses....

Let's remind what "Speccyal k" can do :

- Emulates the 48k and 128k models
- Can load SNA / TAP / Z80 (v1.45, v2.01, v3) / SLT / SCR file formats
- Virtual keyboard to enter any key.
- Mame z80 cpu core for great compatibility
- Beeper Sound and AY-3-8910 sound fully supported
- Options screen with options to choose the joystick emulation (sinclair1, sinclair2, cursor), the emulated hardware ... Options can be saved on the SMC.
- Kempston / Fuller joy emulation (automatic)
- File browser with possibility to load a file anywhere on the SMC card
- Custom keys (no profile per game but it's planned in a next release)
- Savestates : press L + SELECT to save a game. The savestate will be automatically loaded the next time this game is selected.

Head to www.speccyal.be to get the latest version.

Excellent news Tyrell, nice to hear you are still working on it. I just sent you an e-mail with a few suggestions and a per game config is the thing I think that is most needed.

Anyway, I have never heard of Bloodwych. What is it like? Is it an adventure game?

Thanks very much I obviously didnt read the manual properly
my apologies.....

bloodwych is a rpg/dungeon/maze type game with four characters as your group of adventurers
I downloaded it from worldofspectrum.org (but somewhere i still have the tape i think)
and converted the Z80 file into a sna file to try and get it to work with Zardoz jones speccy emu but it was starting to get a little tedious so i thought id try the other emus and was probably a little hasty to dismiss them...

I remember being very pleased with it even though it cost me a tenner but i got stuck on level two and now with the aid of my gp32 i will hopefully beat the damn thing

anyway thanks again :D

Yeah GPSpeccy is a bit shabby :) I have done a major upgrade (Raster Border FX, real tape loading - had to up it from 66mhz to 80mhz) on it but never got round to completing it - too busy at the moment. But for your info GpSpeccy only supports 48k - it was a quick port of my own win32 speccy emu just to see how fast the gp32 is.
