Just heard news of a NGP emulator for my GP32, big big fan of SNK and neo geo and it would be great to be able to play them on my 32. Anymore info on this project anyone? A link would be nice :p.

Also, what this XP clone ive heard whisperings about in dark corners?

yes i am intrigued as to if this emulator is being worked on one of the few handhelds i have ... the only 1 apart from obviously my gp32

I have the source code for the first version of the ngpc emu for the gp32 but iv been told that its still being worked on so im waiting for that to be released.

If i do remember it proper it was running at about 20fps i think?

i cant remember that well sorry ill go ask about it for u

Sorry i was wrong.

The ngpc emu was thought to have been stopped cause of some lamer email bombing the authour.

But he is still working on it.

It will run 30 fps with 2 frame skip

I dont know if thats with sound enabled or not but it wouldnt run faster cause of the rom taking less ram.

But there you go

This news was from last OCt 2002 so i dont know whats happened.

Sorry guys

OCT 2002?!?!?

LOONNNGGG TIMEEEE AGGOOO.

Is the project dead? I cant do ANYTHING code wise myself otherwise id have a go.

Ho hum, back to the drawing board.

Already own 2 NGPC's and love em to bits, just would be nice to be able to play on my GP32 as since ive bought it my poor NG's hardly get a look in.

Because I don't want to carry a bag full of handhelds on the train. Or have to carry all my machines if I go away on holiday, or away for the weekend. I already carry a psion, gp32, GBA, mobilephone. They make no money on hardware sales, they are selling them at a loss. It's games they make the money on, and as I'll still buy them anyway for my collection- I see nothing lame about it. If you aren't into emulation- why did you buy a GP32?

I'm only into emulation of stuff that's a little too difficult to get. I have little john, sms and gpengine on my gp32. Although Nintendos aren't that difficult to come by, Master System and TurboGrafx 16 are. Only other thing on my gp32 currently is gpdoom. I really don't see why people think the gp32 is only an emulator console. Granted that's its main scene currently, but with some these newer consoles are still available and should be bought instead of just being emulated. I have the gpdoom but atlleast I still have the original dooms (somewhere). I also bought mine so I could develop some games for it, if I ever get the time to.

The GP32 is not an emulation-only machine.

I agree about the GP not being EMU only despite what ppl seem to think (it has so much power that is wasted on emus its a shame) but calling some one a lamer is pretty harsh considering the NGPocket is dead and those being sold are old stock. I have a GP & SP an a wouldnt really want to carry another hand held around either. EMUing comercialy viable products isnt the same as EMUing games still on sale on ebay or old stock clearance sales.

I agree with you NssOne but i dont think calling ppl lamers is doing any one any good.

I guess I was pretty rude there. But there's people out there who only look at the GP32 becuase they see it can emulate, and then are all like 'Hey, where can I get a GBA emulator?' GBA is not old stock, and SP is a decently sized handheld with plenty of games out for it and plenty to come. NGPC may not be very comercially marketed, but it is still being sold. I just get sick of it when people ask for emulators for the GP32 of stuff that's still out there. Yeah, most emulators are free and you can find somewhere to download roms for free, so therefore, people want the free stuff. To people like that: if you want the games/console so bad, go out and get it, don't go around bugging people about emulators. There are still places you can get consoles that haven't fossilized yet.

True and GBA whiners are getting the verbal beating down they deserve every time it pops up, in fact it seems pretty quashed on this board. The somthing for nothing crowd will always be around and considering the GP seems to revolve around emulation the actual "Piracy" (Ok i know all EMU is piracy if u dont own the origonal but i mean stuff that is still turning a profit for the company, etc, etc) scene surrounding the GP doesnt seem any where near as bad as the GBA piracy scene, In fact it pales in comparison.

:D Yo guys !!!

I'm actually working on the NGP emulator.

The last performance i've on it 34 fps or more with 2 frame skip on the most big game (SNK VS CAPCOM, ....) classic game run nearly 37 fps depending the game (ex: Dark Arm).

I want to finish some more option before do a release to public (correct and finish gfx new gfx engine, sound, and a save syteme (maybe save state first, bios after)).

Well, I'd like to apologize to King Loz. Didn't know that he already had an NGPC. Most of the emulators I have are of consoles I have owned (aside from any turbografx16) and are too old to go looking for originals + original games.

thunderz Its good to see that you are still working on your project and still willing to share your progress with us. Its a shame that so many negitive things have happened in the course of the production of this emulator but I just wanted to let you know that your hard work is appreciated.

Thanks for the apology NssOne, though i can see why you'd get annoyed. I didnt buy my GP32 for a GBA emulator like many people like so many people whove posted in the forums though, as i already have an SP, i bought it more because its a versatile and interesting system, and the huge compatability options intrigued me.

Thunderz, soooo pleased your still working on the project, and from teh brief description you gave it sounds extremely promising. Any frame rate above 30 is truly phenomenal, and id appreciated if you could keep me updated with any news you've got on it.

Cheers
