snes emulation

Just use an XboX controller, tis truly the best if you use the S controller, enough buttons and the rumble even works on pc games/n64 roms/psx roms etc. the best thing is you can mod it yourself!! took me 5 mins a bit of tape and a knife! :D

:EDIT: and you don't even have to cut up the lead, just buy a spare pull cable from EB/Game or somewhere. about £1 if you're lucky.

I'm using an PSX/N64 - USB adaptor and are playing all the nice emulators with my PSX-Pad. It is very similar to the SNES-one :)

Yeah i got one of those thrustmaseter pads Firestorm Analogue somethiing ;) , quality pad, well built, rumbles more powerfule than ps one, comfortable even available in a wireless flavour :)

I'm not sure if they still make them, but look for the Gravis Xterminator. It's got a d-pad and analog stick, 6 main buttons (2 rows of 3), digital and analog shoulder buttons, start/select buttons, an analog sliding throttle, and a 4-way hat switch. It's also the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and it's so solidly built you could club a kitten to death with it.

It acts like a standard 10 button analog/digital joystick under windows, but it comes with drivers that let you assign key presses to any of the buttons. There's yet another button to switch from the primary key mapping to a 2ndary one. I've never found a game it doesn't work with.

Here's an Ebay auction for one, currently at $1.50. I think I only paid about $30 for mine, and that was when they were still being made.

Xbox Controller S is the best controller I have used for anything. Plus the adapter to hook it to my pc is a big bonus.. The next best thing might be a Gravis Gamepad Pro. Plug it in, set the buttons, and your good to go...

I have a gravis gamepad pro (Brilliant pad, Don`t use it now though), I had problems with joypads because i have a sound blaster live and it causes detection problems between joypads and windows via it game port. :(

So i went and brought a Gravis Eliminator usb (£29.99), This controller is the second biggest piece of sh#t joypad i have ever brought.
It`s flimsy cheap plastic, The d-pad is like squashing a sponge and very unresponsive. The software takes up over 20mb of space and is a waste of time.

Like an idiot i went and brought a Gravis Xterminator usb (£49.99). Thinking that the bigger brother would be better. I could never have been more wrong  . Another waste of money and the first biggest and most expensive piece of sh#t i have had the misfortune of buying.

I gave them away to a local secondhand shop In v good condition + boxes (Glad to see the back of them :) ). That was nearly a year ago, They have still got them both in the window  , Just shows how good they are .<_<

Anyway, I`ve lernt my lesson (All PC joypads are overpriced crap), I now use the same config as EvilDragon, ie psx/n64 usb adaptor (£6) and a psx pad with analogue sticks (£17.99) and no crappy (bloated) software or drivers to install + you get to use all 16 buttons. :)

Just my 2p

Just 4 snes, nes etc. maybe n64 if its up 2 it. hopefully ill get the real controlers with adapters 2 :D. cant seem to find a laptop to suit my budget yet tho.
