shipping was supposed to have been cleared by the 15th ,and the dev section was suposed to be live at the weekend quote from gpx2.co.uk,I am getting the felling that some thing not right,I know they are testing the units prior to dispatch but it just seems to be one thing after another ...so does any one have a answer that not already been posted for example the estimate dispatch date

I assume you mean "feeling" and you aren´t looking for the lumberjacks forum here

What is going to be wrong?

1) They have done a bunk with everyone's money? Unlikely seeing as how they are giving us regular updates, are part of the same community and we know where they live, in addition I hardly suspect the sum total of everyone's orders amounts to "Rio here I come" does it?

2) They are testing the units and there is a problem? Possibly but it is surely far better for them to identify the problem and contact GPH as the primary distributor than for you to get it complain to them, and to all and sundry?

3) It's all a big dream that we have collectively made up to avoid dealing with the pointless monotony of existence and we are all living in a Matrix stylee alternative reality? Possible but unlikely, if so however check Oracle page 888 for subtitles.

4) GPH haven't shipped the units at all and the boys have been paid off to stall us by making stuff up in the forum? Again unlikely but an amusing possibility and if true am I in on it?

Give the blokes a chance. We are all in this together, we are all eager to breaking point, yet I am glad that the lads are doing all they can to make sure what we get is as best as it can be. Cut them some slack eh? ;)

You know too much!

A trip to The Island for you (the one from The Simpons...not the crap Ewan McGregor version)

;)

Actually that Simpsons episode was a parody of a classic British show called "The Prisoner". Always creeped me out when people tried to escape and got eaten by a large inflatable bubble. Creepy!

I have kept quiet until now about this, but i would like to add my two pennies worth (for what they are worth).

As far as i am aware "We hope to clear almost all preorders by the 15th of November." was the last official word from the UK distributor of the item and i should expect a delivery on the 16-18th (for the uk).

Now as i have not received an email saying it has been dispatched i assume it hasn't, if it hasn't and there is another delay then the official UK distributor's website should tell us. It doesn't nor have i at any point received an email telling me of any delays either past or current. I know craigix is busy as are i am sure the other who help him but other than following this website slavishly i would not know what has happened to my money i gave over 2 months ago.

This isn't a moan or a complaint, just an observation that if websites (other than an unnoficial board) were updated or standard emails sent out informing costimers who have paid up front there would be less agro and fear amongst the users.

I agree I think that being kept upto date on news and happenings is important, especially on the positive, on the other hand he's not dixons, he's dealing with lets face it difficult customers, they are rabid if they were sci-fi fans they wouldn't be star trek, they would be blake7. Look at the forum the last few days, its mental.

I do have to agree with you there m8.
People who have ordered of the website might not even come here and know nothing of what is happening.

Instead of people coming here everyday to speculate as to what is happening would it not be helpful to all GP2X customers if there was a daily or some sort of regular update on there website, even if it just said "Have checked 25% of stock will ship when all stock is checked"

I am not really to bothered by the delay as long as all problems are solved, but a more regular update would be nice

Firstly the word "hope" implies that they want to try and get it done and are trying their level best to do so.

Secondly given that they didn't know the details of the checking that would be required your demands of delivery on the 16-18th seem tobe a little inflexible to their efforts, to say little of a bizzarre beleif in the Royal Mail to deliver parcels with the same speed and efficiency they fail to apply to first class post.

Don't get me wrong I can't wait to get my hand on mine, I'm in the first shipment too but I fail to see how any of this fingerpointing, accusing and scaremongery is in anyway going to help either the speed of your unit's delivery or good feeling in the community.

[/QUOTE]on the other hand he's not dixons, he's dealing with lets face it difficult customers,
Precisely, we are waiting on a small niche peice of equipment from a small niche supplier. The "a" in GBAX doesn't stand for Argos.

Some of people here are even beginning to resemble some of the characters from Terrahawks. ;)

Well quite, we all know the above was said in jest. but in the time that was used to open a browser, login, type that in and send a short 2 line email could have been sent to everyone who has paid their hard earned money upfront to say that everything is on track.

So now you are flatly suggesting there is something shady going on are you?

We've all been taken for mugs.

I tell you what if I was thinking of pulling an internet scam I would definitely choose an obscure almost unheard of Korean gaming company as the basis of my heist.

I can't think of anything more lucrative out there than a few hundred computer geeks with 180 quid to spare can you?

Imagine how they are laughing now as they sit in baths full of champagne lighting cuban cigars with 50 pound notes.

How can we have been so foolish not to have seen through this web of deceit.

Thank God you were here to bring us to our senses Boba.....

On the official website where I bought mine from it says shipping is by Royal Mail Special Delivery, now this is guaranteed by next day before 12pm and is also insured in case anything happens to the parcel.

So if it is shipped on the 15th by Royal Mail Special Delivery then it is guaranteed to be delivered by the following day or compensation from Royal Mail to Craig.
