and

B, there was an app out for it that i simply must have as niether my gp32 or zodiac has.

is frodo a lot better than the gp32 version?

Not realy any killer app if you allready have a gp32 and a zod.
But dont forget all the fun testing out new releases!

Rather than a single killer app its more like a lot of apps which run really really well, plus of course the speed of this scene.

I haven't noticed any big improvements in frodo on the gp2x, but thats probably because it was already so good on the gp32 :p However, I could be wrong. I thought that DrMD was as good of a genesis emulator as I would ever get and then I tried it out on the gp2x running at 266mhz (with the overclocking utility) and WOW it was a large improvement! It runs just about every game I throw at it at framskip 0 with 22khz sound at 60-62 frames per second! I only got 30 frames per second or so on my gp32.

About killer apps, well, i'm not sure.... there are a lot of good games out for it but most of them are on the zodiac or gp32 already (but not as good :p ). There's some good homebrew/ports (rock dodger!! I can't wait until the high-score saves work!), some really good emulators (DrMD, frodo, all of NK's stuff), and a lot of other great stuff. If the psx emulator keeps improving that will definitely be something to consider. OnScripter looks like it could open up a large number of possibilities (i'm thinking of getting some people togethor to make a visual novel on it after I figure my way around the "coding" ). I "beat" narcissu on my gp2x using onscripter, and it was very good (and very sad :( ) but I haven't found any other free visual novels for onscripter that are in english.

If you're not sure, just wait for awhile, there's bound to be a lot more stuff coming out, and there's always the rumored "f-day". Some people said that ryleh hinted that it would be this christmas but I think this is all rumors as I don't remember rlyeh ever telling us when it would be released. The f-day preview emulators were simply amazing so i'm definitely looking forward to the full thing.

Spout is alot of fun!

Height max:496 Trying to max 500....
Spout is a port of a gp32 game of the same name :p

Yeah, full res Divx on TV-out the size of a GBA kicks the PSP's ass all over the place.

S-Video to full res 720x480, something the PSP CANNOT DO!!

Yea there's ton's of cool stuff to use with the gp2x, and I dont even have mine to say for sure! The gp32 and zodiac are getting out of date anyway, go new! :p

DrMD is the killer app without a doubt. It crushes Genesis emulation on the zodiac and since your GP32 isn't backlit looks worlds better on the high contrast backlit GP2X screen.

oh well guess i'll hold off a while, thanks all for the input

hmm well I guess with an GP32 and a Zodiac you don't have many reasons to get a gp2x. However it isn't even out officially and the dual core setup is sure a given for some nice surprises B)
