Are you scared mother#$&@!^? You better be because this green beret is going to kick your big ass.

I eat green berets for breakfast... and right now I'm.... very hungry.

I got some of those Ansmann 2600s and they do last a lot longer than my old duracell 1800s, much longer. I did try some energiser alkalines once, lasted about 1hr.

What 1 hour !! I have Uniross 2100mah rechargeables and they last about 20mins!! also once you know when your low on bateries and the screen goes flicky well I acedentaly left it on and when I noticed I had and took the batteries out they were realy hot to hot to hold does anybody know what was going on there?

get mains adaptor.

though, 3v, 3.3v don't work for me.

i use 4.5v

use at your own risk.

Definately get rechargeables and make sure they are at least 2500 mAh. Also, if you haven't upgraded to the 1.1.0 Firmware you should. It made a pretty significant difference for me on battery life.

My duracell 1800s that were fine for the gp32 (4-5hrs) but only last about 1.5 hours in the gp2x. I don't know how long the Ansmanns last in the gp2x but I would guess about 3-4 hours playing. BTW the ansmann charger is mad, 40-mins until fully charged -- it even has a little fan that cools the batteries while charging.

Does it keep the batteries cool or the machine? I have an energizer IC-3 charger that has a fan on it to keep the charger cool and it charges my batteries in 15-minutes B)

Probably cools both, the fan is underneath the batteries blowing air over betweem them and is situated within the circuit board. I'd say it cools the batteries, but as a side affect cools the circuit board too.
15 minutes? Mine charges my old 1800s in that sort of time, but the 2600s take about 40 mins.

Regular batteies die very quick if more than 1/8 of their capacity is drawn in an hour, since the gp2x draws lot of current, regular batteries won´t last much more than an hour.
Rechargeable batteries however don´t have this restriction.

You should use them everywhere, they spare your wallet and help saving the environment! :)

thats because those are batteries with an high internal resistance, get ones with lower internal resistance and eventhough the amount of mah is not much higher they can last much longer.

I bought cheap Profitexx batteries, 2800 mAh!
Only cost me around 10 euros for 4 pieces!
They are of very high quality it seems to me. They hold a few good hours on my GP2X and they amaze me even more on the GP32, holds for a looooong time (can't tell how long exactly, because I turned it on and off a lot and a lot of days ;))

Just can recommend them!
They are avalable here http://www.profitexx.de/index.php & http://www.profitexx.de/index.php?action=akku_charging
and the are also sold on ebay often. (I bought mine on Ricardo, an online auction house ).

Edit: Forgot to mention: On the page, they only show 2700mAh batteries, but there are 2800s, trust me :)

Greets,
Pix
