I got my self a PSP today well its fun and the games you have to buy are amazing but as for emulation its not even close to the gp2x... the snes emulator is like alittle ahead of the gp2x's emulator psp's emulator like 75% done and the gp2x is like 70% its just the PSP has been out longer. after testing emulation out at frist hand and seeing how much trouble it is to hack the damn thing and how little space it is unless you want to spend mad money on one of those psp memory cards or try to keep your hand steady to solder to make a SD converter if you have the spare parts.... now i truely see how great the gp2x is frist hand keep up the great work devs you'll take hand held emulation to a new extreme! I will say i had doubt for awail but i am real glad i got a gp2x another happy customer here.

targus, no offense but didnt you say you were in 12th grade? Cuz your spelling = teh suxxorz :p (btw im gonna be 18 in like 2 weeks :D)

I know i am not the best speller I am sorry we all strungle in somethings in life and spelling isnt my strong point you can use it ageist me as much as you want but i see it as, if you can understand it... well no need to complain.... but any way gratz on being 18 I been 18 since October we have a law in my state where if you are under 18 you cant drive past 12pm so its pretty cool being able to stay out past that time and not worry that a cop will pull you over because your blinkers out and sees your underage. prono hasnt been a big deal cuz well i have no need to buy it i have the internet lol.

Well, there is always firefox with the spellbound extension (Just right click any text field and choose the option on the menu, and it will spell check it for you, or highlight text you want checked. I dont have it installed anymore, as Ive gotten past that point, on "everyday" words, but dont worry, everyone has their weaknesses and strengths.

I agree, with the sentiment: GP2X Snes for the win indeed.

You must have not tried a very new version of the PSP SNES emu. It is not even close. SNES on the PSP is near fullspeed, has SOUND and TRANSPARENCIES, the GP2X does not. That is a BIG deal as the soundchip and transparencies eat alot of cpu. It is very unfair to compare a SNES emu with no sound or transparencies to one that has both and say they are close. Without those two things you are only emulating half a SNES on the GP2X . If those two things were added the GP2X emu would slow to a crawl. The sound chip in the SNES is more powerful than the main CPU.

Well i tired out chrono trigger on the psp snes emulator not sure what version it was but i am pretty sure it was the newst and it was so slow it was hard to even play it and plus the only reason the gp2x is slow is because they can only devlope through linux not the hardware yet or something so yeah i still beleave the gp2x will surpass the psp in emulation after seeing frist hand and knowing how long the psp has been out there

Actually the PSP snes emu runs most games at fullspeed with sound... Ive seen it first hand as well, you must have tried the crappier one or something like that.

Either way the gp2x's genesis emu is alot better hehe.
And Squidge Snes will be the bomb!

You have to remember though the PSP SNES emu is emulating twice as much as the GP2X SNES emu. Shut off sound and transparencies on the PSP emu to compare fairly.

I am saying PSP DOES emulate SNES better. Will it always be that way? Maybe, the PSP is more powerful. But if some l337 coder comes around and hacks up an all ASM SNES emu for the GP2X it could be close enough, but IF is the question.

Well, in the SNES, the sound chip is very loosely coupled to the main processor, so offloading its work to the 2nd CPU shouldn't be a problem. Then it's just down to transparencies... I'm not sure if a concensus was reached as to whether the 2d acceleration functions can help there.
