You might say that my GP2X was the first to be stolen. It was probably mistaken for a PSP or something. In fact, the only thing stolen from my apartment was my GP2X and the one gig card inside, just a week after I got it.

Probably because my thief is most likely my neighbor and he had to climb a 10 foot tall wall that divides our balconies to get in. (So he could only take small things back with him.)

This really pisses me off, because I only just got it and it took months waiting for my order from lik-sang to be cancelled only to switch to another dodgy online store that shipped it out a month after when they said they would.

I’ve really been enjoying it, getting back to all those games I’ve owned over the last two decades, and trying out the ones I never had the opportunity to play. (But remember from all the hype.) I was even starting to get used to the stick. And the thing overclocked solid to 300mhz without crashing. So in all I was extremely happy with it, and it only seems right that something that would be so naturally positive to me would be taken away in some kind of manner.

I won’t be buying a new one. Not because I can’t afford it, but because my girlfriend will be returning from Korea soon, and she hates it when I ignore her and play retro games for hours. (For a good reason, I guess.)

Maybe a little later I’ll grab one, or maybe just a PSP, so I don’t get obsessed but still have a few games to play when I need it. (Plane flights.)

Hopefully, you guys (and gals) will see me in the future, which means I’ve got my GP2X back somehow, or broke down and brought a new one. It was a real pleasure being a part of this community, and despite the idealist GPL debates I’m sure it will continue as a prosperous community.

Ciao

So if you know who it was go thump him and get it back ;)

Bad news sorry to hear it, just a thought if you think its your neighbor then go through his trash, if you find lots of battery packs and dead AA's you might have your proof.

Wow. Lik-sang sucks more than I realized.

Aside from that, sorry to see you gone. Honestly, when something you absolutely obsess over is stolen from you, there's this fear you have of getting re-involved, just to be throttled again. This happened to me years ago. I made a M:TG deck that was worth over 200 dollars, and a lot more to me, as it had some special twists. It was stolen, and for years I couldn't look at a card without feeling that sort of dread I felt after losing something so precious. I can't even imagine what it feels like to lose the GP2X! Well, if you show up here, you are a much braver man than I.

Good luck.

:( Very sorry to hear this. Human scum is the worst plauge on this planet ... bastard; I hope his dick falls off.

But... But... who will update SC2???
:(

Still, sorry to hear, I hope they bust the jerk.

At least don't allow your neighbour to remain unpunished. Report it, it's a bloody $200+ that the bastard robbed you of, it ain't no bubble gum!

I say you go over to his house and bust a cap in his monkey ass!!!!!!!!!!

I am terribly sorry that your GP2X was stolen. Good luck on finding it or getting a new one! :)

sorry to hear that dude

you should track that shit down its unique device so it shouldnt be too hard track down

why dont you break into your neighbours house snd tie the dude up while he sleeps then torture him till he gives you back your gp2x

iff byy some chance hes innocent...what the hell that one person off list of potential gp2x nabbers

I agree. :D

We totally need to make a "potential gp2x nabbers" list  .

Maybe we can even trick some of them into posting where they live on the Frappr :p .

On the bright side, he probably won't get any satisfaction out of it. It's a pretty damn obscure device, and the average thief probably couldn't even figure out how to properly use it.

i would swear to got go over and throttle the guy till i got it back, or firebomb his balcony. cause if my 2x was stolen and i know who did it i would seriously fly into a rage! the guy would wish he wasnt ever born i can tell you that

I pretty much take mine wherever I go.. Since it doubles as a mp3 player its quite usefull!

Sorry about your loss. Where did you buy it from? it may be insured or something..

I agree. biggrin.gif

We totally need to make a "potential gp2x nabbers" list laugh.gif .

Ahh... I guess I'm probably going to have to register to that list...

But you can take me off when I finally get one myself :p

Sorry to hear about this :( I assume you've reported it to the police, so hopefully the thief can at least be caught. Good luck :)

even if you cant prove it, report it. if something happens in the future and you mention this incident, the police will ask well why didnt you report it back then etc. best to just report it even though nothing will happen, just to get it on record.
you never know, in the future, he may steal from someone else, and they will report it, the police will see "hmm, 2 people reported having suspicions of this person stealing from them...we'll investigate"
