snesemu and snes9xgp... the difference?

Whoa, okay, thank you for the answers here. So I see that it WILL save, but only it certain spots. So, lets say that I am playing Super Metroid (This is just an example, I am pretty sure that would not do so good on the GP32), and I get to a save column thing. I can save then, correct? I just can't start the game up and walk into a fight and save. Correct me if Im wrong here.

Cool! By the way Rico, you seem like one cool and helpful guy. I also like the quote by your name. I meant to ask, do you have anything to do with the GP32Zine? I have gone by that website a few times, and I thought Rico was a name there...

Just to clarify - currently, saving in SNES9xGP is done the old-fashioned way through creating a ".SRM" file, which contains the data that would normally be flashed back onto the save ROM in SNES cartridges. Normally this .SRM file is completely interchangable - I've had no problem using .SRM files made from Snes9xGP with SNES9x or even ZSNES for the PC. So if you go talk to the Wizard and he saves your game, you need only select the "Exit - with SRAM" option in SNES9xGP to have it written to a file. Remember to leave your GP32 on for about 10-20 seconds afterwards or the save may not be written.

Save states actually save the current "state" of the emulated machine, basically dumping whatever is in memory and the emulated registers into a file. These are not nessecarily portable between emulators.

Actually at an assembly version that looks to be cleaner and more simple to port is SNEese. The sourcecode looks somewhat comprehensible and doesn't have the sprawling bloat of zsnes. I think it is still an active project so it might be worth a look any way.

hmm it looks good and even runs on a 486, all is in 320x240 so you could even port the menu :D
hope someone try it, because i think its a really good snes emu, and if its easier to port
