I have a few cartoons (the hobbit and a few simpsons episodes) I want to watch on my GP32, I have been reading threads all day and from what I can see GPCinema is my best option. I can get it to open and find the divx file but it wont open or play it, I have been searching for help for a few hours now, before I continue (im leaving for holiday tommorow) I need to know if GPCinema is going to be my best option or if i should use another player.

it is best.
Are you using virtualdub with divx 4.11? You've got to use that codec.
I'll make you up a smaple file if you want, hold on.

I have used that codec and changed the framerate to 10 and 15, I can see the file in the GPCinema browser, it tells me the details, but thats all it does, it wont play it or attempt to.

I cant seem to download the sample file from your link either.

Try clocking your GP32 higher with the R button. Also GP Cinema doesnt support all sound encodings - e.g. sometimes episodes d/l'ed off the net have 12000hz or 24000hz instead of 22050hz or 44100hz, so try changing that in Virtual Dub.

GPCinema wont even open now, it restarts the GP32 everytime. I wish I had more time but it looks like il be leaving my GP32 at home even though I only got it to take away with me :(

What is displayed on the GP32`s screen when you first switch it on ?.

This ?,

Blumenu.jpg

Or this ?,

Koreanmenu.jpg

Or this ?,

SlubmanFirmware.gif

Or something completely different ?.

You didn`t say how you formatted your SMC ?.

Trooper

Have you tried formatting both SMC`s via the GP32 ?. If so, Did it display any bad blocks, If it did, How many ?.

Btw, Did you know there are two versions of GPCinema ?, Which version are you using ?.

EDIT: How are you transfering the files over to the GP32 ?, Is it via a card reader (recommended) or via pc-link/GPmanager ?.

Trooper

I do have a card reader but i have been using the file manager/ usb lead (looks like shame on me!!) I will try putting the files on using my card reader, Also i didnt revice and messages about bad blocks or any other errors. I have 2 cards, 1 i just opened and 1 that came with the GP32 when i got it today

Trooper, you are a trooper!

(You are a mod, aren't you?)

Sorry I can't help etc.

Im setting off on my travels now, big thanks for all your help, Im thinking ht card I got with the GP32 is dodgy, Im bringing my card reader and usb lead to thailand incase i get to a internet cafe and have a chance to give it another go with the new card.

Thanks again for trying to help :)
