Now that the new compatibility site has been launched, I guess I need your help in updating the game statuses, testing the site for bugs etc.

Please let me know if there's any emulators you want there or if there are any emu versions that are out of date. I have been coding like crazy for this thing and heven't really kept up to date with version numbers or anything else really.

Checklist

Thanks in advance,
Clare.

Site looks brilliant!! And love the cross platform compatibility idea.

Will be adding to the Speccy emulator set up for gp2x v. soon. Only issue, and I may be being stupid but the search functionality wasn't working for me.

Hia, I have a little prob with the search, if you press enter it doesn't work. click the search button instead and it should work. I will code some javascript to sort that soon.

TTFN,
Clare.

Edit: Actually I just sorted that already :)

I will try and help ya with the web site. Love the intro

Glad you like it, actually there's 3 intros randomly selected. I will add more when I think of even more diabolical ways to squash a space invader

This is really good WarmFluffyUK. Awesome work !
It's fast on my 20Mb line, but I'm not sure for people who have slow internet.
Perhaps you should do a Lo-fi version (like this board) with pure text (if it's possible).
I also would like to have Gp2X PcEngine's emu on this (with a Pce-Cd roms part)

Thanks !

EDIT : And Neo-geo too ;)

Okey Doke, I have added PC Engine (PCE) and Neo-Geo emulators to GP2X, I haven't populated the games for these classes yet, as I'm off to bed. If anyone has a definitive list of games for these systems I would be very grateful.

As for the speed, it should be okay on slower connections as there's not a huge ammount of data flying down the line, most of the work is done by the server and it just sends the output. I have tried to make this system as fast as possible as the database is getting huge, and it seems to be coping. I might have to look into upgrading my server if things go crazy.

I have populated the 'PC Engine' and 'Neo-Geo' sections with a load of games, if you find things are missing, you can let me know, or I could possibly give you permission to add and edit them yourself :)

Clare.

WarmFluffyUK,
Did you design the site from scratch or use something like postnuke? I'm curious because I designed I site similar to this from scratch. I need to keep up on the content management systems out there.

It looks really nice. Only problem I had is the tables render really slow.

Hia,

I wrote the whole lot from scratch, and I think I might need a faster server, as when you're searching through lists like the spectrum list, it takes a while to query because the spectrum has literally thousands of entries for it, and it's doing an outer join from the status table. I'm looking into a complete server upgrade soon, so this should sort the speed out. Until then, patience is a virtue :( .

Keep in touch if you like,
Clare.

The only problem I see is the next page buttons are not obvious enough when scrolling through game pages .

I know its minor , but just something I noticed .

Edit: what I mean is their should be page links on the bottom of the page . For next previous and numbers .

I will look into all your suggestions over the weekend. To be honest I have been concentrating on getting the whole thing working. Tweaking is next :) .

Okey doke I have made a couple of changes. The page selector is now at the bottom like the old list, and the default view isn't 'All' anymore which makes the whole thing a lot faster. You should now select what letter to view or use search, the view 'All' option is still there but it's obviously slower as it selects EVERY record for that class.....

Clare.

Strange thing ! I only got the first page of each emulator (0-1). Something like the 20 first games.
Thanks for adding Gngeo2X and GP2XEngine BTW.
Do you still need some game list ?

Great work WarmFluffyUK B)

You need to make a selection from the sort drop down list on the right. presently it shows 1-0. Choose another letter etc.

As for the game list, yes any list will be of help. I'm still missing a good SNES list. I'm not sure how complete the Neo-Geo and PC Engine games are, let me know if you find anything out of place.

Clare.
