I haven't been able to get gpQuake to run, or compile the sources. Anybody else have any luck?

Hello!
I'm going to post a snippet of the mail I sent to you Inoipa,
hope you don't mind.. It might be useful for others who have trouble compiling or running the binary.

------------------------------------------
About compiling..
I've got devkit advance installed at "c:\devkitadv".
I've got "devkitadv-gp32-v002b.rar" installed (find it at:
http://chn.roarvgm.com/#gp32 ).

Go to the directory "\gpQuake\gp32\" and type "make" (or try "make --win32" if that doesn't work for you) and it should compile.

That should be about it I think. Let me know if there's any problems
still...

To run the pre-compiled binary just put:
"gpQuake.fxe" in "gp:\gpmm\"
"pak0.pak" in "gp:\gpmm\quake\id1\"

I've tested it only with the shareware release of Quake.

When you boot up you should see the Quake console in a matter of seconds.
Press START.
Choose "Single Player" and then "New Game"
It should take a while.. Something around 5 - 10 seconds, and then you will
be entering the game.
-----------------------------------------

Oh.. and I've tried running the binary using PacRom only...

Cheers,
--Anders

Well, I've let the thing load for about 5 minutes, but no dice (installed all the mentioned files where you want them). About the compiling, I've installed devkit advance + chn's patch as well, but I'm still getting redefinition errors.

maybe you should try running it with the normal bios instead.

I have normal bios, but the same things happened. After loading gpQuake i choose new game etc. (like in instruction) and nothing happens. Pak files are in good directory otherwise gpquake wont run at all (blank screen).

Has anyone tried it with Pacrom as yet - I might do so, if I can be bothered to download the shareware Quake .Pak file (I've got the full version, but Anders doesn't seem certain that that one should run, so better to be safe than sorry).
It might be that it ONLY works with Pacrom or similar, for a reason like more memory being available...

well actually i have PacRom 2.0 and ive the same problem as Hando and Inopia.. is there something we are missing here?? theres gotta be someway this game will run.... :(

EDIT: sorry, thats PacRom v0.2

I can run gpquake from my 32MB card but not from my 128MB card although the directory structure is identical on both.
On the 128MB card the program freezes at the console after selecting new game, this sound like the same problem people are describing here.
