Hi,

Has anyone had the same problem?

I put my head phones into the socket and the socket just broke and went into the gp2x so now i just have a hole where the headphone port should be and the ports gone inside it

Anyone have any idea how to get this fixed?

Also ive only had it about 1 - 2 months now and i cant find the box either :(

happened to me, i never pursued fixing it, i heard that you can send it back to the company you can buy it from, and get a replacement

Its kinda of annoying lol seeing a blank hole,

i just emailed them to see if i can get a replacement as i brought it from the main dealer :)

It can be fixed with a quick dab of a soldering iron if you don't want the hassle of sending it back?

I tryed to get inside it but the screws are on that tight none of our scredrivers will do it,

But i'll give it another go :)

But isnt opening it up breaking your 1 Year Guarantee ?

Craig doesn't seem to mind people opening there 2x's to fix faults like broken headphone jacks - after all, it saves both of you the hassle and cost of exchanging it for a different one.

Also, once you've fixed it, you can stick some hot melt glue on the connector to make sure it stays in place, rather than having the possibility of exactly the same fault with a replacement.

Ive just been inside of it,

Ive took the part out as it was loose and could damage the other parts, Im just glad it still works and that i can still use it,

I hardly use the headphones anyway so i guess ive not lossed much :)

When i have time i will buy a solder and stick it back :)

That's funny only because the same thing happened to me today. I just whiped out the soldering iron and luckily it works again. I'm glad yours still works. I can't believe how brittle the gp2x headphone jack is. I am really careful with all of my electronics. There's really no reason it should've broken off after only having it for a month and a half.

Yea very true, Thats the first time something like thats happened to me, They should of made that port more secue so things like this didnt happen by putting a plastic ring on the case to go around the port to keep it in place like most products have,

I watched initial d fourth stage on it the other day and wow it felt strange seeing it on a smaller screen hehe but the picture was perfect :D

I think Gph solved this problem in the new Mk2 version. Perhaps Craigix could tell us if it's true !?
I had the same problem with this headphone socket and managed to fix it by myself
Here's some pictures
But do it only if you have the minimum soldering skills, or simply send it back to your seller.
